If truth be told......most men hate church. Something that appeals to them that they consider masculine is really an adventure far removed from the effeminate nature of church today. CBN.com excerpt:

Let me be blunt: today’s church has developed a culture that is driving men away. Almost every man in America has tried church, but two-thirds find it unworthy of a couple of hours once a week. A wise Texan once told me, “Men don’t go to church ’cuz they’ve been.”

When men need spiritual sustenance, they go to the wilderness, the workplace, the garage, or the corner bar. They watch their heroes in the stadium or on the racetrack. They plunge into a novel or sneak off to a movie. Church is one of the last places men look for God.

I read a book called "Why Men Hate Going To Church"

It really was a good read. Not that I agreed with everything the guy wrote, but definitely good food for thought

So what did he suggest in order to attract men? Personally, I cant find a church that begins meeting my spiritual needs so even if they did have hooks to get you in, it wouldn't matter to me. Bottom line, there are no Particular Baptist (Old School) Baptist churches in my state that I would even want to go to....they do not exist. Therefore I float from church to church to church. I am not happy with the menu of apostate churches I have seen masquerading as solid Christian churches.

He suggested giving men something to do, maybe especially with their hands.

Getting men together to go work on a half dozen houses of older or single women
Auto repair day in the church parking lot, where people can get free auto repairs'

Other stuff besides that, but those stick in my memory. Stuff that goes on outside the building. His contention was that church and virtually everything about it is designed to cater to women. That women actually run the churches, and the men are simply tokens who are propped up as leaders with no effective say so.

He cited things like "mom's day out", etc as examples, and the stated target demographic of K-Love radio being women. things like that.

He said that the Jesus who turned over the money changers' tables and drove men our with a whip, is nowhere to be found in today's churches, that the church preaches an imbalanced Jesus, only meek and mild and never manly

Work days, service days, camping trips, race trips. If the ladies of the church can schedule a shopping trip and take the church van the guys can certainly use it to go to a NASCAR race.

I have seen game dinners with guns as door prizes at my own churches and others for the last 20 years. Most are pretty good events.

Does your church have a problem reaching a particular demographic? Then figure out why you are not meeting their needs. Church does not have to be a chore, if it’s not fun you’re not doing it right. I know we need hard preaching also and it’s not always fun, but it should be some times, most times.

Sadly Jesus Christ is "pictured" as effeminate! I don't know whether it was the Italian influence or not but all the pictorial representations of Jesus Christ show a man with long hair and an effeminate look. He floats across the ground, never gets His feet dirty, and his clothing stays spotlessly white.

We must understand that Jesus Christ was all man, a working man, likely a carpenter, before He started His ministry. Afterwards He walked the dusty land and dust stirred up in walking is not selective where it settles. Jesus Christ was man and he endured what man endures, even temptation but without sin.

So modern man foolishly avoids association with the Church for which Jesus Christ died, ignorant of the thousands of men throughout history who have suffered and died for the cause of Jesus Christ, ignorant of the lives of the Apostles, most of whom were martyred because of Jesus Christ and His Church.

Italian influence...LOL, all my mothers side were Italian and all were total men.

But here is a sampling of what happened a few weeks ago. I go into the church and a woman immediately runs over and tells me that the church is having a pot luck for lunch, go and fetch your wife.

And I constantly get asked by the women where my wife is. Brother, it's totally feminine ...there is zero masculine energy.

But who's fault is that EWF. Are we all whipped to the point that we just roll over and let that happen? Or can we grab the initiative and regain our manhood?

Fault stands with the women who artificially maintain dead churches. I believe that if you see no masculine energy it is because real men have deemed the particular church as apostate and left. Its the women who step in to keep the place running when it should be closed down and sold off.
