...name them one by one, count your blessing see what God has done...

Let’s try something different in this thread. Instead of the normal display of anger and indifference; the Check v Check Mate mentality, the you’re wrong and I’m right, lets count our blessings.

    I’ll start.

    1. Just over five years ago my wife and I entered a phase of our life where we found ourselves flat broke. Yep. Didn’t have a pot nor a window to throw it out…, as the old saying goes. Well, we finally made it and things are now back to normal. What is most interesting here is that with hindsight, we didn’t need for a thing during this time frame. Our Lord BLESSED us with all the food we could eat and we were able to pay our normal bills with no interruptions of service and right at the exact time we needed another vehicle…, we were provided one. Praise the Lord!!!

    2. Last June (2013) it was required that I endure major stomach surgery. No cancer was found during this four and a half hour surgery and while it took seven weeks of recovery with an additional four weeks for one area of my stomach to stop leaking fluid…, I was declared totally healed and the surgery was a success. Praise the Lord!!!

    3. After this surgery however I developed what is referred to as an After Surgery Hernia. Last Wednesday I was operated on again after a three hour stay in the OR and now home recuperating from this ordeal. I’m healing up quite well, thank you. Praise the Lord!!!

    4. During this time it was requested that I visit with a Cardiologist to determine if my heart was still working properly. During this appointment with said Cardiologist and based on my previous life style…, he was adamant that I had one foot in the grave and only a series of testing would verify his learned opinion. So, they do blood work; I take the stress test; the Echo test; they pump me full of something that would reflect via moving X-rays how my heart was functioning…, and I went home.

    a. I go back for the follow up and the Cardiologist is just beside himself. Nothing major is wrong considering my history and this goes against all he’s been taught over the years and does not comply with those monthly periodicals he reads. So, in order to save face…, he decided that I needed to change one medication that I’m currently taking as it could, over a period of time, interfere with my kidneys. Praise the Lord!!!

In April I turn 69. The Lord has blessed both my wife and I with good health and He’s watched out for us all our lives.

    Praise the Lord.

...I might depart this life next week (which would be fine with me) but I can't help but reflect on all the blessing from our Lord. Praise the Lord!!!

[1] He saved me - a wretch (literally).

[2] He has blessed me abundantly.

[3] He has delivered me and my family from so many of life's afflictions and trials.

Our most recent blessing is that our furnace malfunctioned and burned something so badly that it stunk to high heaven and burned our eyes. The blessing was that this same furnace was spewing out carbon monoxide into our basement and because of the smell, I put the detector in the basement (it is usually outside our bedrooms) and it went off within minutes. We have had no heat over the last 4 days and it was 11 degrees last night here in NY. But we have a fireplace, firewood and space heaters that friends loaned us (the oil filled radiant ones so they are safer) and we are alive.

God has always provided for us and even during times that we were having difficulty, when we've released it all to Him, He's kept us from being homeless. :) We're not rolling in the dough like we used to when my husband was in the audio industry but we are warm, have a solid roof over our heads and my family is healthy!

annsni, Scarlett O., it does appear that perhaps no one else on here have experienced any "blessings" worth speaking of.

I'll try this. Hey folks..., my blessing are better than your blessing!

    ...perhaps this will work.

Just tell them their blessing isn't valid and is a man-made blessing. :)

annsni, perhaps you're right. Merely "man-made" with nothing to write home about.

...lets see if I can get something started this way.

Jesus was left handed and always slept with his head facing East.
