Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
..... And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

One would expect to find the spirit of Antichrist in the Roman Catholic Church if, in fact, the Papacy fulfills the Antichrist prophecies.

If one were to ask the average professing Christian whether or not the Latin Roman Church answers to the Scripture cited above, no doubt the reply would be in the negative because superficially, on the surface, the RCC confesses Jesus Christ is God the Son incarnate.

However, when one looks beyond the superficial and begins to investigate the doctrines the Church of Rome actually holds as authoritative -- doctrines which must be believed as eternal truth – it is then that the spirit of Antichrist is discovered.

The primary reason the Son of God was made flesh was to save His people from their sins.

As the sinless Son of man He came to do that which Adam did not: obey the Father perfectly in word, thought and deed.

By so doing He earned the right to pay the sin debt of His people.

This He did as their substitute, taking their deserved punishment upon Himself while on the Cross.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Had the Son of God not been made flesh He could not have died.

Only through death could He redeem us by His blood.

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

    In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Christ’s perfect sacrifice was offered once for all eternity.

    But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Christ’s sacrifice propitiated the Father, satisfying completely His holy and righteous justice.

    This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

There is no more offering for sin.

But not where the Roman Catholic Church is concerned.

Every day, worldwide, Catholic priests offer a sacrifice for sin to God the Father.

They daily offer a bread god, a bloodless sacrifice they call 'Jesus Christ.'

The Devil tempted Christ to turn a stone into bread.

But by the spirit of Antichrist the Devil does one better in his false Church.

He has his wicked priests turn bread into God.

Is there a greater lying wonder?

Has the Roman Church not trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Does the reader now understand how Mystery Babylon denies the very purpose and mission of Christ, which is why He took on human flesh…..thereby denying Jesus Christ is come in the flesh?

Antichrist is alive and well and few there be who believe it.

There was a day, when I was young, where every Christian I knew believed that the RCC was the cradle for the Man of Sin, and was antiChrist, crucifying afresh the Son of God.
Seems now it has become unpopular to express this, thanks to Dobson, Stanley, Schumer, Graham, and on and on.

    Abomination of Desolation

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

In this context, Jesus prophesies the love of truth shall decrease, while the love of lies preached by false prophets shall increase.

This we are seeing in our generation. The Futurist and Preterist prophets are prime examples.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)

and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

On the Cross, Messiah the Prince made an end of sins, (i.e., His atonement superseded the need for sin offerings), and made reconciliation [between God and repentant sinners] for iniquity, and brought in everlasting righteousness [to all those who believed in Him].

But rather than believe in their Messiah, the vast majority of Jews viewed Him with disdain and hatred, preferring instead to continue the daily sin offerings of bulls and goats.

However, it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

To believe otherwise was an abomination, as were those abominable who continued the blasphemous practice.

Jesus predicted the desolation of those who believed and practiced this abomination, as well as the desolation of the Temple in which the abominations took place.

The same prediction is made of Mystery Babylon, the Church of Rome and her Antichrist.

Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen….Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come……And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!..... Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

Just as Jesus warned His people to flee Jerusalem before its destruction, Paul warns Christians to flee idolatry. In like manner, John heard a heavenly voice warn the Lord’s people to come out of Mystery Babylon in order to escape her sins and unswerving judgments.

Just as the Jews trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace, so, too, is the Roman Catholic Church guilty of the same abomination.

The Abomination of Desolation offered by Antichrist in the Temple of God, the professing Christian Church.

One need look no further for the false god, the Vicar of Christ (Antichrist), offering a false god (Jesus Christ the wafer) as a sin offering in His Temple, St. Peter’s Basilica.

    Perrin's History

The pre-Reformation ancient Christians of the 12th century all held the Sacrifice of the Mass to be a most wicked and soul damning denial of the efficacious perfect sacrifice of Christ.

To illustrate I will cite two excerpts from Jean Paul Perrin’s classic work, History of the Ancient Christians, originally published in France, 1618, and later translated by Dr. Thomas Bray, of which translation was published in the USA in 1847.

This book has been digitized and is freely available online.

Anyone familiar with Church history will recognize the name of Henry of Lausanne [d. 1148], whose fellow Christians were known as Henricians.

The Catholic Church excoriated them as heretics, while true Christians honor them as among those many faithful witnesses for Christ against whom the Gates of Hell would not prevail.

Where, I ask, are the discerning Christians today who understand that the Mass and its Jesus-denying blasphemy is the soul-destroying work of Antichrist who is now, and has been, in our midst for centuries upon centuries?

Today innumerable Christians have not a clue as to the identity of the arch-enemy of Christ enumerated countless times in Scripture, as well as in history…….

…….Thanks to the lack of discernment evidenced by the sleeping drunken prophets who teach lies for truth to their sleeping, gullible, carnal flocks.

    Daniel 9

I find it quite troubling that Dispensation theology perverts the obvious identity of the Prince who shall come.

He is the same Messiah the Prince, the Lord Jesus Christ, who sent the Roman armies to destroy the abominable Jewish Temple and city as the righteous judgment of a Messiah-hating people.

He is the same Messiah the Prince who will come as Righteous Judge on the last day in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

So, in your opinion, Nero is the Messiah.
He is the one who sent Titus to destroy the Jewish Temple and the city, and the Jews were scattered as a result. Nero, yes; he was the one that did that.

Actually Nero sent Vespasian, Titus's father, to quell the Jewish revolt. Nero died, Vespasian returned home to become emperor and then sent Titus back to Palestine to finish the job.
