Cuba used to be the richest country in Latin America with a fair standard of living. Then Cuba fell into the clutches of the murderous Castro brothers and communism. Now Cuba is so poor that the joke is that Haitians won't even go there. The Cuban government is a repressive police state guilty of innumerable crimes against humanity.

Some photographs of the old days have been compiled along with snapshots from today and posted on YouTube in a video of six minutes and twenty-two seconds:

Back in the 50's I went to Hargrave Military Academy and there was quite a few boy from Cuba. I went over there one year and what caught my eye was I didn't see the poverty that I had seen big cities here and in some other places here. Later our baseball team went over there for two weeks of playing games all over the country, it was a nice place. Castro and his group had all read started their deal to take over. Most of my friends got out, most came here but some went to Spain. Some of their families stayed hoping change wouldn't be to bad. We now know.

Reminds me of Scranton (you think I am kidding)......they too embraced Socialism. NOTE: Both Joe Biden & Hilary Clinton's families are from Scranton.

Our church has been able to minister in this country and my daughter is going in August to work with some of the local girls near where we have been working. Poverty is absolutely rampant and it's so sad. :( But let me tell you, - the believers there have a faith in God that is so pure. It's not based in what He can get for them materially, that's for sure!!! :)
