    Washington Intends Russia’s Demise

    Paul Craig Roberts

Washington has no intention of allowing the crisis in Ukraine to be resolved. Having failed to seize the country and evict Russia from its Black Sea naval base, Washington sees new opportunities in the crisis.

    < snip >

The Wolfowitz doctrine is the basis of US policy toward Russia (and China). The doctrine regards any power sufficiently strong to remain independent of Washington’s influence to be “hostile.” The doctrine states:

“Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.”

The Wolfowitz doctrine justifies Washington’s dominance of all regions. It is consistent with the neoconservative ideology of the US as the “indispensable” and “exceptional” country entitled to world hegemony.

Russia and China are in the way of US world hegemony. Unless the Wolfowitz doctrine is abandoned, nuclear war is the likely outcome.

You believe that horse dung you have been asleep the last 5 years. Obama wants the US as a third world country and foreign policy is in the hands of the president!

He doesn't believe it. He's the best propagandist on here, nearly succeeding in the disguise of his Marxist philosophy as that of a "patriot."

I believe what the mass of evidence shows OR that's all.

I've been wide awake since the neocons co opted the republican party 14 years ago and now they have co opted the democrat party.

The global banks and multinational corporations are in charge of "foreign policy" Obama is a puppet same as Bush and Clinton were.

No silly, the American people are finally waking up and starting to see through all your hyped up fascist authoritarian fear mongering propaganda, and it's about time! It's all that blatant in your face hypocrisy that's doing all the damage to your "message" not me. :applause:

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and all the founders of this nation would fit your definition of a "marxist". It's become quite evident that you believe anyone who doesn't embrace corporate fascism, perpetual war and a militzrized police state is a "marxist".

Poor baby finding it harder and harder to convince people to stay in the neocon's ranks these days aren't ya? Apparently that's why you've adopted the democrat's policy of trying to silence your political opposition. You can't bully and insult us into silence so you run to the "authorities" and plead with them to "use the law" to silence us, exactly like the typical "democrat/liberal/marxist" would do.

Do you really believe the people are so stupid here that you can put your hypocrisy on public display everyday and they won't notice it?

Neoconservatives planned regime change throughout the Middle East and North Africa 20 years ago. Robert Parry correctly points out that the Neocons have successfully “weathered the storm” of disdain after their Iraq war fiasco.

But the truth is that Obama has long done his best to try to implement those Neocon plans.

Similarly, ever since the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the U.S. has pursued a strategy of encircling Russia, just as it has with other perceived enemies like China and Iran.

In 1997, Obama’s former foreign affairs adviser, and president Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser – Zbigniew Brzezinski – wrote a book called The Grand Chessboard arguing that the U.S. had to take control of Ukraine (as well as Azerbaijan, South Korea, Turkey and Iran) because they were “critically important geopolitical pivots”.

Regarding Ukraine, Brzezinski said (hat tip Chris Ernesto):

Ukraine, a new and important space on the Eurasian chessboard, is a geopolitical pivot because its very existence as an independent country helps to transform Russia. Without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire.

    ***

However, if Moscow regains control over Ukraine, with its 52 million people and major resources as well as access to the Black Sea, Russia automatically again regains the wherewithal to become a powerful imperial state, spanning Europe and Asia.

And now Obama is pushing us into a confrontation with Russia over Ukraine and the Crimea.

I've read The Grand Chessboard OR, have you? I assume no because if you had you'd realize that what's been happening for the last 14 years closely follows Brzezinski's "foreign policy" recommendations in it.

New York Times Admits that Russia Is NOT Sending Pro-Russian Fighters Into Ukraine

Mainstream Media Is Being Forced to Retract Its Propaganda More and More Quickly

The New York Times pushed fabricated evidence in the run up to the Iraq war. A year later, the newspaper apologized for its inaccurate, one-sided coverage.

The U.S. and the New York Times pretended that Syria’s government was responsible for the chemical weapons attack … but that claim was debunked, and even the New York Times was forced to retract it several months later. (The alternative media, including Pulitzer prize winning reporter Seymour Hersh, has also pointed out that it was the Syrian rebels – with the help of the Turkish government – did it).

Then the U.S. and the New York Times pretended that they had proof that Russian soldiers were the mysterious “masked men” seizing government buildings in Ukraine. But a couple of days later, they were forced by reporting from the alternative media – especially Robert Parry, winner of the George Polk Award for National Reporting – into retracting that claim, and admitting that their “proof” was almost as flimsy as proof of Saddam’s “weapons of mass destruction”.

Indeed, even the New York Times now admits that the Russian army is not directly responsible for the anti-government protests in Ukraine. As Parry notes:

I simply put more faith in the evidence and what I see going on around me than the neocon's fear mongering propaganda and the corporate media's lies. I guess that alone is enough to make me an un patriotic "marxist" worthy of being banned right TND?

"Look everyone Poncho is exposing the neocons and all their lies and hypocrisy again! Ban him! Ban him! Ban him!"

The evidence shows that the policies of Obama, both foreign and domestic, are destroying this country.

Sure it does if that's the only evidence you care to look at through the lens of the false left vs right paradigm.

But . . . strip away the fear mongering propaganda and "party politics" and look at ALL the evidence it says . . .

Obama is a puppet of the global corporate elite same as Bush and Clinton were.

I'd like to see Obama removed from office and prosecuted because he is a traitor committing fraud against the United States domestically and falsely taking us on a path to world war three geopolitically. Not because he's a democrat, a communist, a socialist, or a marxist, or even a fascist (which he undoubtedly is). I'd also like to see all the global bankers and CEO's and all their little corporate sponsored propaganda men like Zbigniew Brzezinski who put him up to it to spend the rest of their lives behind bars. Not because they are democrats, or republicans, or socialists, or marxists, or even fascists (which they are) but because they are psychopathic criminals that are responsible for the needless deaths and suffering of possibly more human beings than Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin combined.

TND and some others here want to defeat a democrat for political purposes. I want to bring all the globalist traitors and their sock puppet politicians under their control in both parties to justice. That's never going to happen so long as we Americans keep letting ourselves be hoodwinked into believing the government is in charge of globalist (multinational corporate fascist) inspired policies.

The real threat, the real enemy is the transnational oligarchs that have co opted not only our government but western governments. That's who we should be directing our efforts at.

Expose them for what they are and expose their crimes against humanity and their puppet politicians will fall away and turn on them quicker that you can say "Jack jumped over the candle stick" and it can all be done peacefully.

Then and only then will we get our country back, and not until. If we don't then . . divided we fall.

He also has developed a new fondness for the "f" word ... something Marxists love to use against anyone anywhere to the right of them.
