When it comes to judging a fellow believer - does the Bible:

    A) Require it
    B) Recommend it
    C) Is silent about it
    D) Prohibit it
    E) Other

12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” 1 Cor. 5:12-13

Depends what you're judging him for and how you're judging him.

For instance, if a brother is found in sin, then judgment is appropriate. But, then, what kind of judgment is the question. A brother found in sin who is repentant should not draw the same judgment as an unrepentant brother.

We judge a person to determine their eligibility for church membership, we judge them to determine their eligibility as a baptism candidate, and we judge them in cases of church discipline.

On the other hand, we shouldn't judge in cases where liberty is involved, or on matters of adiaphora, and our judgment should always be just judgment and done with humility and prayer.

The way people here judge me, personally (present company excluded...you've actually been one of about four people here who has treated me decently) is completely unbiblical and inappropriate.

The op is so vague it cannot be answered. What kind of judgment? How are you defining judgment?

And folks say the Modern Versions say the same thing as the KJB.

    This verse starts with the word "For" in the KJB;

1 Cor 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

The word "For" connects verse 12 to the verses preceding it.

1 Cor 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Are these verses telling you to judge your fellow Christian? No, they are telling you not to company with people who are committing certain very serious sins like fornication, covetousness, extortioners, and idolaters.

It is not telling you to judge your brother because he doesn't come to church as often as you like, or because he smokes cigarettes.

And it is not telling you to go and preach to this person and tell him all his faults, it is telling you not to company with persons who commit these serious sins.

But folks pull a verse out of context and interpret it to give a "personal" interpretation.

The scriptures do tell us if a brother is taken in a fault, then he who is spiritual is to restore that person in a spirit of meekness.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

We are not supposed to approach our brother and convince him he is unsaved and going to hell, we are supposed to approach him in the spirit of meekness, considering ourselves, as we could (and do) fall into sin ourselves on occasion.

Nobody likes a self righteous person who sticks his nose in everybody's business.

Sheer foolishness. Ain't nobody gonna sit here an argue back and forth over a word. It's impossible for anyone to make a decision about ANYTHING without passing judgment.

You passed judgment in coming to your conclusion above.

If you know he's your Brother, why would you have to go to him and convince him he's unsaved and going to hell? You're mixing threads and apples and oranges.

I basically agree, but I would add the words as indicated below in bold.

It's VIRTUALLY impossible for anyone to make a decision about almost ANYTHING without passing judgment

    PS
Was my statement above a call of judgment

There are different kinds of judgment.

There is a judgment made about what someone has done. The judgment then is about an action.

There is a judgment made about a person. The pharisees made judgments about people that said sinners were not worthy to be around. They were the scum of the earth less than others.

There is also a judgment made about people where we decide is this a good influence in my life. We question whether we should associate with them because of poor behavior not because we see them as less than us.

We are always making judgments about people. Not all judgments are the same.

It is EASY to find fault with others if that is what you want to do.

We are not to sit in church looking around judging our fellow believers.

There are folks like you in every church who think they are holier than everybody else. Nothing but pure trouble-makers and busy-bodies that do not know how to mind their own business.

God knows how to take care of his own, let him do his job.

Of course we are to "judge" our brother/sister. But it is to be remedial and not punitive or accusative.

As a doctor who diagnoses a disease or injury so that he can treat it and cure the patient.

Most people go to the doctor and if you are a person who manifests agape love people will come to you for a cure and the medicine is the Spirit of God and the Word of God.

If we see our brother/sister stumble we should help them get up, bind their wounds, pour in the oil and wine.

If they don't want help, at very least pray for them. Who knows perhaps you will participate in snatching them out of the fire.

    Jude 1
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Again pure foolishness and not what anyone has said.

And there are folks like you who like to jump to silly conclusions based upon stuff that hasn't been said.

Whether or not folks go to heaven ofr hell IS my business otherwise God wouldn't have lef me here and commissioned me to GO!

Silly rabbit. God uses other PEOPLE to take care of His own. Who do you think He gave the word to when He said All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

PEOPLE are doing the teaching, the correcting, the rebuking, and the training in righteousness.

He also says 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20

Some folks need to get their heads out of the sand already and stop sitting around watching folks go to hell just because they're too scared and too "it's not my place" to do what God has COMMANDED them to do.
