Oh no. If you call yourself a evangelical life is going to have to change drastically if this means living well by Barton's interpretation of living Biblically. Check out the list of 51 things you will have to give up.

Whoever this Deborah woman is who wrote this article, she's very snarky.

    I don't like snarky.

It's juvenile and said with a smile while all the time holding a metaphorical knife behind one's back.

The article is silly. Most evangelicals don't even know who David Barton is and of those who do, many don't accept some of his teachings.

She's lumped us all together into one big paranoid freak show. I can most certainly buy clothes at J.C. Penney's an a drink at Starbucks. It has nothing to do with my faith.

I believe you miss the point of the author, that being to think through the logical ramifications before making statements like the one quoted in the OP. Christians all too often do this and end up making Christians in general look stupid, narrow.

Have you read what St. Augustine says about Christians that take the creation story[ies] in Genesis literally?

Included on the List is Ford - well, I worked for a local Ford Dealer who was a Christian.

I supposes you could find something objectional with any major company.

Of course another way to look at it - the Bible instructs us to go INTO ALL the world.
