The results are in for the GOP Senate primary vote in Kentucky.

    McConnell 60.2%
    Bevin 35.4%
    Others 4.4%

Almost all media outlets are describing McConnell's victory as "easy" or similar.

    What think you?

I don't think this was an "easy" victory. The minority leader of the Senate does not get 40% of the vote? That's embarrassing, IMO.

I am no expert but I think that 60% is considered a landslide in most elections.

Yes, 60% is usually the amount where the word landslide is invoked. But, McConnell is practically a political institution. Consider that 40% of Republicans in KY didn't want him to represent him and by extension didn't want him to be Senate minority leader.

As you know, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The real story here is the collapse of the electoral threat of the Tea Party. They have become a caucus inside the GOP and focused on economic issues. Obama overreacted in depriving them of their human rights and using the gestapo IRS to attack people for political organization.

McConnell is an embarrassment. Just what has he done except oppose everything the Democrats propose? He doesn't offer alternatives. He only rejects the Democrats' proposals. He then goes on to say he'd preserve the benefits Kentuckians have gotten from Obamacare while saying he wants to repeal it. That's politics the Republican style. It makes absolutely no sense.

Senators don't propose. Bills originate in the H.O.R..

Also, McConnell doesn't have much to oppose. since Reid won't bring anything up for a vote.

I guess you were just ranting.

Which is exactly why the Roberts court ruled as it did. By ruling the ACA is a tax, it set up the opportunity for the entire law to be thrown out as illegally passed in Congress -- and yet no one has seen fit to file suit anywhere to begin the process.

One has to wonder ... why not?

The Republicans in the House have blocked or tried to block EVERYTHING the Democrats have proposed in the House including filibustering against better benefits for retired military.
