I signed up to help my church tomorrow however due to differences I won't help long just briefly. I am willing to work with Arminian but often (not always) they won't work well with me. I let them be but they usually get intimidated or convicted or whatever.

When I witness I will strive to start with Total Depravity but they often ignore that but start with God Loves you. Yes it's okay to start with that as long as you hit on sin as David Jeremiah did in a book, but all too often do hey dodge sin and focus on results. How can a Calvinist work well with Arminian or perhaps unless they will accept the Calvinist for who he is it's not possible as Earth Wind Fire said once.

My pastor is an evangelical Arminian, and I have NEVER heard him preach/teach the primary focus that God loves you!

His main points always are that you are a sinner, God sent jesus to die in your stead, and that only hope is to receive Him as your Lord/Saviour today!

If Wesley and Whitefield could work it out, sure that you can!

I hold to the Doctrines of Grace, yet do not speak to fellow Christians, or the lost in those terms usually, more to what the Bible states what the Gospel is!

Jesus death is the atonement to save lost sinners, and you must receive him thru faith to get saved...

Let HIM handle who is the elect, our job is to teach/preach that!

Yep--that's how this 'Arminian' approaches it as well. In fact, I don't see a problem with the basic gist of the WayoftheMaster style of evangelism in using the Law to point out sin so as to show the person's need for a saviour. The law confirms the diagnosis; the Gospel, the cure.

    Indeed.

Great point. I sat under the preaching of a great Arminian Baptist preacher for more than 20 years (my dad), and still loved to hear him preach after I grew up, moved away and became a Presbyterian. However, both he and Steve Brown (from Key Life) would agree that the Gospel is bad news before it is good news.

I could work with Charles Stanley as he preaches a bold gospel message. Yeah I guess all Arminian are different.

I am gonna go there and try and be a servant and cause no debates. If they appeal to my tracts perhaps I may have to use theirs although I don't like too as they dot emphasize repentance. However God can use anything to draw his elect to salvation even Arminian.

I can work with Arminian depending on the type. Ray Comfort I do not believe to be a Calvinist and I love him.

If you want to go straight to the horse's mouth (and don't have time to wade through all his Works), I highly recommend reading ARMINIUS SPEAKS, (edited by John Wagner), which includes some of his key writings. You may be pleasantly surprised--he's not the 'semi-pelagian heretic' many (less knowledgable) Reformed writers characterize him as being.

If you read Pelagius, you will find out he is not the Pelagian he is accused of.

Pelagius is the Calvinist "Boogie-Man". Keeps folks in line.

Many folks are not even aware that their minds are being manipulated by others.

Calvin got the idea of total depravity from Augustine. Augustine picked up this belief from the Manichaeans Gnostics of whom he was a part for a period of time.

I think I just puked a little. I can look at a lot of rabbits. Big rabbits, little rabbits, rabbits in a stew pot, VW rabbits, rabid rabbits, all sorts of rabbits but Bieber is going over the top. You are heartless, Winman.
