I have a gas stove. Short of using oven cleaner on the range, or scrubbing every single time after use, what's the best way to keep the stovetop clean? I need something that won't give me an asthma attack, yet will do the job. What do you use?

bicarb and/or white vinegar is good.....i mix up a paste and clean with that and a paper towel. My stove top is electric rather than gas however. Can you buy silver foil thingys that go around the elements...I love these..

I use a frypan and a cover to stop splattering which is the cause of most of my stovetop woes

Get it real clean and then eat out. A lot.

madre bought this bottle of purple supercleaner from a feller that knocked on the door. She paid $40  for the cleaner and $100  to replace the top of my head when it popped off!

I'm at work but when I get home I'll post the name of the stuff. It worked as advertised. I'd say it was amazing or awesome but that's for another thread, eh.

I always use chemicals such as generic windex or ammonia. Could be problems for your Asthma.

Simpy Green is pretty good. It's concentrated and you mix it with water so you can adjust the concentration. You need a separate squirt bottle, though. I got the orange scented option at Home Cheapo.

I use windex for our cooktop (sealed ceramic gas cooktop) for most cleaning after dinner but if it gets particularly bad, I scrape what I can with a razor and use Soft Scrub to deep clean it. It's been fine and our cooktop looks pretty good for 12 years old!

I use my steam cleaner and wipe round after every use. I use a stainless steel scourers for the oven shelves and make use of baking tins to catch spills

I use baking soda and vinegar! It works really well! If it is really dried on try letting it soak for awhile first. I try and use natural cleaning supplies most of the time and I even prefer vinegar smell over chemical smell
