    September 5, 2014 - 11:52 AM

(CNSNews.com) – While unemployment nationwide is 6.1%, the unemployment rate for black Americans at 11.4% is more than double the rate for white Americans, who have an unemployment rate of 5.3%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The unemployment rate for Latino Americans, at 7.5%, is also lower than the unemployment rate for blacks, the BLS data

You can probably double those percentages for each category --the findings of the study are unrealistically low.

16% Think Young Blacks Better Off Under Obama

Few voters think life for young black Americans has improved under President Obama, and hopes aren’t high that the president’s new My Brother’s Keeper initiative will make things any better.

Just 16% of Likely U.S. Voters think life for young black Americans has gotten better since Obama’s election in November 2008, while 22% believe it’s gotten worse. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that half (49%) feel life for these Americans is about the same. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.

    Don't think so!

The number of folks on welfare and disability is astronomical, and it costs working folk's tons of hard earned money!

Obama has pushed for entitlement perks, and people vote to keep these perks coming! However, soon a more conservative group will come to office, and the entitled folks will find it a difficult task to manage.

This is why we need to introduce a back to work welfare program, to keep citizens from being idle. Give them something to feel good about, And keep their work skills sharp.

There would be nothing wrong with putting entitled folks to work for 10 to 20 hours a week helping with tasks at government offices, retirement homes, park's services, grounds keeping and freeway liter control, pre school and school aides and office's aides, to give the paid staff more time to do their jobs with less distraction!

There has to be an answer to paying a majority of the public for sitting idly around! So, no he has done more to harm the entitled than he has helped!

Yes, because they have political power, which is more important than economic power. Everything against 0bam@ has become racist so that Cindy Sheehan dare not protest against 0bam@ as she did against Bush.

I think that Sharpton, because of his oratorical skills, is the true black leader. There is no Democrat unrest against 0bam@ except among white Democrats who are worried about re-election because of the bad economy--they can hardly point to black political victory as a substitute for a collapsing economy, can they?

NAACP president: Black people worse off under Obama

NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Jealous said Sunday that black Americans “are doing a full point worse” than when President Obama first took office.

“The country’s back to pretty much where it was when this president started,” Mr. Jealous told MSNBC host David Gregory on “Meet the Press.” “White people in this country are doing a bit better. Black people are doing a full point worse.”

As bad as things are under Obama, the perception is that they are much better than they were under George W. Bush, George HW Bush and Ronald Reagan.

Not to mention that he is the first black President. When you've got someone who is a trailblazer, people are willing to give a little bit more leeway.

The majority of black people that I talk to didn't expect everything to suddenly be grandiose for them just because a black President was in office. A lot of white people seem to think that's what they thought though because they see Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh op ed's of folks proclaiming Obama is gonna pay their bills and they won't have to pay their mortgage, etc.

But for the record, the unemployment rate of Blacks has CONSISTENTLY around twice that of Whites for decades. This isn't new and it didn't just start under Obama.

If I'm not mistaken, there has actually been a bit of the closing of the gap under Obama as far as the 2:1 ratio goes.

Good up to date information. The table I was looking at earlier was comparing numbers through the first 58 months of the last few two term-presidencies

It's silly for folks, ala this Tavis Smiley, to think that any President is completely responsible for what is taking place with black employment. If the numbers have gone down for Whites, but not for Blacks, then obviously there is something else at play.

Are people presuming that a President and his administration are only to create jobs that benefit a certain demographic?

If they have fallen behind in income, education, and employment, what other factors are contributing to this? Or are folks assuming that the administration is creating policies that benefit the white demographic while working against the black demographic?

I don't get it. Did folks expect him to come in and suddenly fix everything for black people?

Not everyone expected that. But it's likely you saw that youtube video of this black woman, 20-something, saying he was going to pay off her mortgage.

But that's what I mentioned earlier. I believe I first saw that on Sean Hannity's show. And it pretty much became the "Accepted" truth amongst the majority.

It was akin to the networks always finding the worst looking, unable to talk to black people they can to interview.

Again, this is the poster child for what a lot of the Republican party wants to be the picture of the current President . Like the "politically conservative " media does all the time, they take these clips of the most dysfunctional looking and acting black people they can find and they replay the clips again and again in order to make that the narrative. And then a lot of you loving "POLITICAL conservatives" sit back and racially stereotype.

The average black person doesn't expect the first, second or third black president to pay for anything anymore than the average white person expects a white president to pay for anything.
