Motorola Razr Maxx HD. Huge battery. Easily go 2+ days without a recharge. Runs Kit Kat. Almost two years old and still love it.

4 of the 5 members of our family have iPhones on Virgin Mobile. While we paid almost full price for the phones, we each pay $30 a month for 300 minutes, unlimited texting and unlimited data. It really has been wonderful and even with paying full price for the phones, we have saved a LOT of money over the plans that are out there. I have the iPhone 4S and my husband and girls have the iPhone 5C. I'm slowly putting money in an ING savings account for a new phone when the time comes. It will cost a few hundred dollars so I put in a little when I can and when this phone dies or gets broken (shouldn't happen since it's in a Lifeproof case and I've even gone swimming with it), I should have the cash to buy another one.

My son just started high school and this is the first time he's out of the house for school. There used to be a pay phone at school but of course it's gone so we got him a Samsung Galaxy Centura on Tracfone for $60. I bought 60 minutes for $20 and I get triple minutes which means he had 180 minutes put on his phone. He also gets 180 texts (texting is the main way to communicate with each other when we need to because it's quick and inexpensive) and 180 mb of data (hardly worth it). But he's had the phone a week and has used 4 text messages and 2 minutes on the phone so I think he will do fine with this. He has the data turned off on the phone so he can only access the internet with wifi which is at home or when he is within our cable's wifi areas (they have a LOT of areas where you can get wifi with them - including outside the school which is awesome).

Same here. :) I have plenty of minutes but I go for the "unlimited" stuff first. LOL Texting rocks!

That could be as much as two minutes on the phone but leaving a quick: "Do you have your key? I'm going out" takes only about 13 seconds and reading the reply takes less. Oh - and retrieving a message takes time (and often minutes) too.

The nice thing about texting is that I can send it whenever I want and the person can read it whenever they are ready and respond whenever they want. I texted my daughter yesterday but I was sure she was in class so couldn't take a call. She texted me back after class was done and in two texts, we got our business out of the way. That reminds me; I want to see if she got her toaster oven yet.

I don't like touch phones or small buttons, so I use a flip phone designed for use on military bases and all that jazz. After much abuse it is finally about dead, so needs replaced. I managed to find one online for when I'm ready to replace it - but not from the company as they allegedly improved it, with many poor reviews from customers on the improvements.

The mobile phone costs are very high per second here, the buttons are too small to be bothered with texting. I have one for emergency use, the phone company is always letting me know that my prepaid is expiring......bare faced thievery !
