Friday, Oct 31st is 6 weeks and 1 day away.

What will your church be doing that evening?

What will your church NOT do that evening?

This might be off OP but

So Bro Curtis, are you saying you don't do anything while at work?

and now back to the OP

(unless there is a way to tie the two subjects together)

My church is not doing anything. I will be working. Some would say that my job isn't work but I would tell them "horse feathers".

We have "trunk or treat." We have debated the pros and cons of it. We have come to the conclusion that this is an opportunity to shine light into darkness.

Same here .... we hold an alternative event called Harvest Festival! Lots of fun, candy, game booths, hay rides, music, and fellowship. Plus a message from pastor to close the evening. We usually have over 2,000 parents and kids. About half of this number are guests and neighbor children with nowhere to go? This gives those families with young kids an alternative to Halloween. Kids can dress up in their favorite Biblical character, and if entering the costume contest, they must have a verse and explanation to accompany their garb.

My son once asked [at five years old] if Christmas if the celebration of the birth of Jesus .... does that make Halloween the birthday of Satan? A deep thought from a child.

You may not agree with a harvest festival alternative, but it is an opportunity to witness to the community and share the word of God!

Going to a high school football game. We are hosting a trunk or treat on November 1. This is Texas so football takes priority over...well, everything so our community moved trick or treat to Saturday.

Candy? Why didn't I think of that. I could wrap them in tracts that look like $100 bills....

The church I attend as a whole will not be doing anything. The church, with it's individual attenders and sub groups will be doing whatever they choose to do. The range is varied.
