Apple recently came out with a new iPhone with a larger 5.5" screen (something Android has had for a couple of years now.) They have sold 10 million of them already. BUT, it turns out that the build quality is pretty flimsy, as owners are discovering their shiny new iPhones are bending. Yes, bending. LOL!!

Someone came up with a parody advertisement, mocking it as being a desirable feature:

This is not actually something new with the thinner phones. Android has a number of them that do the same thing and there is at least one Blackberry that does it as well. The big news? Apple has had 9 claims so far. That's all. Not really that big news, it turns out.

Apple says they have only 9 claims...SO FAR. You can't go on social media without seeing the images and there are many, many more than 9 phones with bends in them. The phone is very large. People put them in their back pocket and sit on them. They bend.

They've also had problems rolling out their latest OS.

I shouldn't be so smug as I've got a couple of mutual funds that are heavily weighted with Apple stock. Today was not a good day to be in Apple stock.

I've heard that it's not the back pocket but the front which to me is a weird place to put a large phone like the 6Plus!

But again - it's not unique to Apple. http://www.cultofmac.com/297404/get-bent-shocking-history-bent-smartphones/

Thin metal bends when you jam in your back pocket and sit on it? That's crazy. Recent video showed that it takes 90 pounds of pressure to bend an iphone, less then some, more then others. For a comparison they said that would be like breaking four pencils at one time. Why people would be so careless with expensive electronics has always been strange. I've had cell phones for years and "remarkably" never broke one.

I'm only relaying what owners of bent iPhones are reporting.

Same here. And I don't use a case, prefer to go naked. I've never once dropped a cell phone. Over the years I have seen at least a dozen iPhones with cracked screens. These are strangers I see using their phones at ball games.
