As pastors, and members of churches. this is a great forum to find out what the pastor should be most concerned about when praying about a message for Sunday mornings!

I am hoping you can give a top five list of themes or topics you as a pastor, or a member would like to see emphasized on Sunday morning?

    My top five are:

    1) Salvation, and sharing ones witness with others. Matthew 28:18-20 and John 3:16.
    2) The need to walk the walk; talk the talk; and live the life. Matthew 7:13-14 (the narrow road)
    3) Death, eternal life and hell.
    4) The second coming and our need to be ready at all times.
    5) Healing, sickness, why some are not healed, and others are. And the power of our prayer as individuals and as the body!

    What say you?

Nice line. I actually picked it up from an old english story set in the medieval time period.

That is definitrly a good point to focus our messages on! For walking in the Spirit is the key to having and holding unto our faith as well as reflecting the kind of witness that draws the lost to Him!

What are the MOST Important Issues the Church should Preach on?

The Bible and its practical application. I am sure that it seems like an overly-simple answer, but I think that some churches lose their focus and overemphasize denominational doctrines and men's (authors, theologians, etc) opinions.

So the pastor is not a man? By your logic none of us should be attending churches since they are all led by men and men teach. Books are written by men as in pastors, professors, evangelists, laymen, theologians, etc..

Note the word(s) lose their focus and overemphasize.

What I love about these kind of questions is that I get such good answers. This is excellent. I know that our pastor spent six months preaching on Warren's PDL, and it got old quick. Stick with the Bible, and you will never go wrong

If you preach through the Bible you will hit everything that is important with the correct emphasis that God wanted. If something is only mentioned a couple of times then you will only preach on it a couple of times and if it's mentioned a lot you will preach on it a lot.

I am reminded of the line about the three most important aspects of real estate: Location, location, and location.

My favorite verse says in part, "behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

So, for me the five most important things to preach on are: 1) Christ, 2) Christ, 3) Christ, 4) Christ and 5) Christ.
