How important is prayer in your church? We are told to "Pray without ceasing" because the need for a church to lead the way on their knees is important if we are going to serve not only God but one another.

I found this link and felt it had some great ideas on how to develop and maintain a strong and active prayer team in the church! http://www.barnabasnetwork.com/prayer_teams

Does your church still have the old Prayer Chains? The telephone list of members who can get prayers going for an emergency need within the church? Where one member calls another, and soon there are twenty to thirty people agreeing together for the need of another? http://www.harvest.org/church/ministries/emergency-prayer-chain.html

Do you have a group that comes up to the front to pray with those who come up for prayers of healing, or to give his or her life to Jesus?

I was interested in how important prayer still is in your church, and what programs you have in place to make sure that the church is there whenever and wherever a need may arise .... to see that, your church is staying focused around the need to pray without ceasing!

Prayer chains and results of prayer are important where I go. Many testimonies. We also have two or three go to public places to lay hands on the sick.

Do you visit hospital and rest homes? And if you do, what kind of walls do you have to overcome to get in? I think this is a great way to use your prayer teams.

Yes and we have seen amazing things happen. Some folks refuse prayer though even after seeing results with other folks they know at the home! Hospitals are more legalistic though, a bit tougher. We mainly go to the general public but try to visit hospitals and rest homes once a week.

That is great. When we turn it over to God, we know it will have an answer that glorifies Him, and expands our faith and the ministry. Keep up the work. Every answer is going to touch and change a life.

At our home campus we have prayer teams after the service waiting up front to pray with people and really, with the advent of the internet and social media, we can quickly get prayer requests to people via those methods. I'm not sure what they do at the other campus but I've been convicted with this post that while we do pray at our campus, we don't have anything officially set up and we need to. I will be speaking with my husband today about how we can effectively set up a prayer chain and a prayer team at our small campus. Thanks for the reminder of this VITAL aspect of our walk and ministry!!
