What do fundy churches do? Are they primarily just a service only church? Or are there things going on like Sunday School or anything during the week?

Why would you think a Fundamental Baptist church would only have Sunday worship services? Please see:

    Hamilton Square Baptist Church's site

for fuller details. In answer to you two specific questions:
    • Yes, HSBC has Sunday School for the younger set and Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings
    • We also have Wednesday Evening services.

Many Fundy churches have activities going on 8 days a week, and some expect you to be active in a church ministry on at least 6 of those days.....

    Mary had a little lamb
It would have grown to be a sheep
but it joined a Baptist church
and died of lack of sleep

Fundamental churches often have a LOT going on. My church has Sunday School, morning services, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Soul winning on Tuesdays, as well as Bus visitation on Saturdays. So, an average week has 4/7 days with something going on. Then there's revivals and missions conferences, as well as adult and teen activities.

    This is spot on.

I remember the last IFB church I went to was having a "revival" with a preacher who was a missionary to Israel. Naturally this was an even bigger deal than the other so called revivals and was 4-5 days IIRC. Well my soon to be Mother-In-Law's birthday was that week and the family was going bowling one of the nights of the revival, naturally I wanted to be with my fiancee and her family so I told my pastor I would be skipping one of the nights. My pastor told the visiting missionary who actually came out into the parking lot after service and flagged me down, as I'm driving out, to talk. Essentially he said that if I ever wanted to be of any use in service to God then I needed to get my priorities straight and be at the church every single time the doors were open.

The guilt trip worked and I cancelled on my fiancee and her family and went to the service. :tear:

That IFB seems to have some priority issues, IMO. I've attended various IFBs since 1981, some calling themselves Bible Churches but thoroughly baptistic in practice. Every pastor in each of those churches preached the following priority ranking, which I think is biblical:

    God
    Family
    Church
    Vocation
    Other (hobbies, leisure, etc.)

The priority of God is to be absolute, to the extent of our ability to understand things. The other four can overlap at times, to wit: One does not skip Sunday meetings because the family would rather go to the lake that day, but one does skip if a family member is hurt/very ill and needs to go to the ER. The overlap is necessarily somewhat subjective, and godly people can disagree on how it is implemented. Benefit of the doubt should go to the higher priority.
