If a Baptist church led by example of having a reformation publicized; going over the scriptures in proving and reproving all the doctrines and teachings within, would that lead other denomenational churches to do the same with their teachings?

I honestly cannot say what would happen if the Baptist church announced that they were doing this in the news media that would lead other churches as well as individual believers to get into the word more for themselves.

Which Baptist Church would do this? The Southern Baptist Convention? Aren't most Baptist churches autonomous? I don't understand how the "Baptist Church" could make a statement for all other Baptist churches, unlike say, the Catholic church, which could make a statement for all Catholic churches.

I don't think it would work nationally, but locally as the local papers could generate interests by the members of other local denomenational churches to do the same.

It all depends on the Lord in leading this local reformation or not.:jesus:

If we look at the people, it would be agreeable to think so cynically, but if we look to the Lord, He light be peradventuring... one never knows except to try and lead by example and see.

Course, a local church holding a reformation would allow church members to ask questions that they have been putting off or even to do so anonymously so as to finally get an answer without creating waves for asking it.

Growth comes from addressing the needs of the congregation in their walk with the Lord and with patented and scheduled sermons and lessons will hardly cover all that the world throws at believers during the week.

Well, no one can really tell any one to do anything when not an elder of that person's church.

The only thing that a believer can do is exhort or inspire.

Which is why I suggest a Baptist church to do in inspiring other denomenational churches to do the same.

Mayhap reformation would be too much of a turn off.

Perhaps a collection of questions or anonymous ones to be answered the following Sunday is the only way to meet the needs of every member in their walk with the Lord... as the Lord permits. When a church involve the members more with interactions, then maybe other churches will do the same in addressing those core issues that each member of the church may be having a problem with, but are afraid to ask or say so.
