Yeah, he's an idiot running for his town council.

But idiots come in all parties, persuasions, and personalities.

This might be news is he were running for a Maryland state office or a national office and had millions of supporters or if he were getting "southern" airtime.

I'm from the south and I've never heard of him.

Besides, he only got 2,337 votes in a town of 75,000 people. That's not a whole lot of support. It's only 38% of those who did vote. He didn't even come close to getting a majority of those who did vote.

This sounds like a problem for the people of his town and for them to get off their duff and keep idiots like him off the town council.

This isn't a problem for the south in general. He didn't win because he got a lot of support and people jumping on his bandwagon. He won because those who disagree were too apathetic to oppose him.

Yea, but Peroutka is called a raciest, while the others are revered as civil rights activists.

From the link in your post (via Huffington Post)
the white nationalist League of the South.

I took a look at the LotS web page. I did not see where race is indicated anywhere as a requirement for membership.

Would you be so kind as to point out the page that indicates it is white only.

Dems and far left extreme liberals are desperate. The op is a prime example of that. When they have no real argument they pull out the race card. It raises emotions in people without thinking. And that is what liberals want. Voters who do not think.

Salty, my friend. Sit back, take a sip of that Mountain Dew and note the title of the group, "white nationalist League of the South". Now, take another sip. If you were a person of color how welcome do you think you would be received by any group with a title that begins, "white nationalist"? Here, let me get you another bottle of MD while I get another cup of java.

Salty, the coffee is good also. Well, you know this type of group has become too sophisticated to be too obvious in their racist views in public. Do me a favor, go to one of their meetings and let me know what is said. OK?

I looked at their page and i didn't see White in their name, it seems that the ever reliable Huffington Post added that so they could play the race card.

The same can be said about those who continually accuse others of being racist. Especially when it's done to shield a crooked politician from being held accountable.

Imho people who play the race card every time a politician or their policies are questioned or to gain a political edge over the opposition are the biggest hypocrites of all. By yelling racist racist racist all the time they are just adding fuel to the fire. They're making it worse not better. They're creating even more friction and division by keeping it front and center all the time. If the democrats and the media were on the up and up about doing away with racism they wouldn't be pushing it in our faces 24/7.

Don't know if I fully agree with your statement - A hypocrite says one thing - believes another.

But if you don't say anything.....

    Just saying....

I feel the same way about those who yell racist racist racist every time Israel's politicians or policies are questioned.

Racism is used to divide and manipulate people and squash dissent. The republicans are just as guilty of using it for those purposes as the democrats.

If the American people ever get tired of being manipulated in this manner you will be seeing pigs fly. As it is right now republicans and democrats engage in using the race card while complaining about the other side using it.

Hypocrisy: the behavior of people who do things that they tell other people not to do
