Bush is not as strong as some might think. Romney will have a leg up because just about everything he said with regard to foreign policy during the debates with Obama has come true. Quite honestly I might be tempted to vote for him should he run.

I remember him saying "we should be loving" and let illegals come on in.

Who really cares what polls of this sort say at this stage of the game?

    They're useless.

    Yep, early polls mean little.

But at least it is Romney and not Bush. The less encouragement, the better.

Me too. I wrote in Ron Paul in 2012, but I'd definitely prefer Mitt to Jeb.

Why do the Republicans keep running the same losing candidates election after election? It's always the same. Voters want someone new, with some newer ideas instead of the same pedantic, dogmatic, GOP talking points. Same goes for the Democrats. The system needs a shock of some new players, but the establishment parties seem bent on offering us the same choices they offered last time.

Worse yet, most voters are either so apathetic or so low-information that they fall for it year after year. You hear people say things like "We need to vote out every member of Congress," and yet in most midterm elections members of Congress are re-elected at staggering rates. Why? Because the same people saying we should vote out Congress will add the caveat "Except my guy. My guy is the ONE good congressman in Washington." And if everyone says that, then no one gets voted out.

    Alright... [/RANT]

Democrats are better at the game of politics than Republicans. Look at their candidates since I was able to vote: Carter, Clinton, Obama, all guys that came out of nowhere and won. Dukakis was new to most voters. Voters want someone new, Dems oblige.

Republicans have run Reagan, two Bushes, Dole, McCain, and Romney. The only real unknowns they ran were Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin.

This is so true. And in my case, it is so true that I've got good representation. Erik Paulsen, MN 3rd district. But I know it can't be true nationwide.

Jeb Bush? He has no chance to get the nomination. He's on the wrong side of the immigration issue, for one thing.

Romney put Perry in his place on immigrants on collage funding illegals ...Remember the "heartless" Perry remark. If the candidate had the guts to run on illegal immigrants need to go they would win big! Unless it's ted Cruz we will get some RINO again because they will try to win Hispanic vote rather than the American vote.
