We mail one out monthly with - a word from the pastor & other staff members, an events calendar and announcements for the upcoming month. Truthfully it’s kinda cheesy looking. When I get mine it usually gets the once over and then straight into the trash. We are looking for some fresh new ways to get info & news out to our people.

Does your church put out a newsletter with information and news directed to its members?

If so, how often is it made available? How is it put it out? For example, mailers, email, web page, etc.

If so, is there a name for it?

We do an email newsletter 50 weeks out of the year. It gives what is going on that week and what is coming up. I do a short (100 words or so) thought. It also contains the fill in the blank outline that will be in the weekly program on Sunday.

It's sent out to all members and anyone else who requests it specifically.

No newsletters at our church. We have the church website and then we use one of those e-mail programs to send out nice looking e-mails for activities and special events. Lastly, we use social media to inform members of things as well.

Put in some coupons; for example - This coupon with a reservation, will guarantee the back pew,
or - 10% discount on your tithe - and I like this one- VIP parking.

We have a weekly newsletter that is sent by e-mail to every family. We also have a church blog. Much business is conducted via e-mail.

Recycle? Perhaps they could include some Scripture in it. One , after reading it, could cut the Scripture out and go door to door and hand them out.

We could sell indulgences...I hear there's money to be made there.

The church I attend now has a website updated periodically as well as an email newsletter that goes out at least once a month, sometimes twice or three times a month.

The email newsletter usually touches on two or more upcoming events/programs of interest/justice or missions projects that are new or ongoing, or words of information that need to go out.

I get a weekly one. It has memos, times of daily services, and always a spiritual piece to think about.

Good grief Jon...that went out after Martin Luther.

Most folk would not be able to access website, either too old to be bothered or just not interested in computers.
