"The Church is to be Charitable; The Church is not a Charity" (Elder Jim McClarty from his teaching lesson from 1st Timothy "The Charitable Church". )

Jim is the Teacher/Pastor at Grace Christian Assembly (Baptistic) Church in Smyrna Tenn.

    http://www.gcaarchive.com/1timothy.shtml (lesson 12)

Here he teaches that the Church is to be giving but that is NOT the main objective of the Church.

Really? 4 hours, 26 views; no comments? Not even a rebuke?

Most don't have an hour and six minutes to listen.

Listened some, don't have any rebuke or amens to offer. The spirit of generousity coupled with wisdom should be the default mode for a church. I don't have the wherewithal to investigate every case, give as led by the Spirit, allow God to handle the rest.

If you need an excuse to not give, I'm sure one could be found.

I, most of the time, when listening to "teachings" provided by others, FF through any "fluff" to the "main course". I just assumed most others did the same.

"as led by the Spirit" in every case. If not "feeling it"/ led, I don't contribute, that simple, for me.

"Some people" do think that the "Church" is bound by faith to help them if they ask.
Thanks for listening to what you did and commenting.

'Preciate it , I didn't "have" 39 minutes to listen, so I "made" time. lol, It was a good message from a Great verse with good pointers for application. I don't agree with Andy and his methodology on several fronts but, actually, what he suggested is my personal strategy. I invest my self in those I encounter in my daily comings and goings with time which is my most valuable resource. The Spirit most always speaks into my life through his dad's teaching although again he and I would disagree on Soteriology. I keep the good and let the "bad" slide through. THanks again. I was blessed to hear.:godisgood:

Be careful, usually around here the "reformers" and the "non-cals" don't get along. :)

haha, yeah, I experienced some of that "love". I'm good, I can be civil with most. I can "reach across the aisle", why, I have been on that other side.;)
