Future SBC meetings

Any idea why they chose these cities? Any idea who decides on where conventions are to be held?

 

There is a "Time--Place" committee that considers potential cities---the cities are chosen based on certain criteria---two being the ability of the city to house conventioneers and the size of meeting centers----if you are gonna be expecting a crowd of 10,000 attendees---you would need an arena capable of seating----does the potential cities have enough hotel accomodations within a reasonable distance from the arena---etc. etc----some years ago now there was seemingly a group of attendees who felt the need to broaden the cities to include more that were north of the Mason Dixon line and more cities included west of Dallas

 

Probably going to Columbus this year since it is within driving distance.

Dallas seems like a good fit. However, it seems like they would have a much better attended convention by staying away from the northern and western cities and meeting in places like Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans, etc.

Bosley, after posting I just noticed where you are from. I guess you made it last year at Baltimore?
