Motivation: Ministry or Profit?

    The resurrected thread about Mark Driscoll's book on marriage prompts me to ask a question: Do you think that the motivation behind the production of the average religion-themed book, written by popular pastors and teachers, is ministry or monetary?

    There's a third option that a probably more significant than the first two, platform.

    Lot's of authors want to create a platform to draw people to them. It isn't about money, really few authors make good money writing, nor ministry, but fame.
