For those of you devoted to evangelism:

On my drive to work each morning I occasionally come upon a young man who walks from a train station to his work place.

Since it’s been so frigid of late, I’ve been picking him up and driving him the last half mile or less as I come upon him each morning. It happens only once or twice a week now, over the last month or so. He really appreciates it.

It gives me much less than a minute talk with him.

We’ve shared names (his interestingly enough his is the same as mine), we’ve shared what we do and where we live.

Other than passing him a tract, how would you share the gospel with him?

    Suggestions???

    Rob

Ask him, "Where do you go to church?" He might say somewhere or he might say "I don't go anywhere." Then you can say, "I'm active in [name of your church]. I'm getting used to picking you up and giving you a ride. It would be nothing for me to pick you up and give you a ride to church. Want to go Sunday?"

Well, you could go all out and just ask him bluntly about his relationship with the Lord. Some people respond well to that, others despise anyone who even mentions Godly things. There's no way to know short of asking.

Or you could have some Christian or Hymnal music playing next time you pick him up. He could be the spark that starts the conversation. Please understand I'm not condoning lying or manipulation. It's just easier with some folks to start light and work your way into heavier things.

You've already discussed names, lives, and work, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for you to ask him if he goes to church somewhere.

Personally, I would not hand out a tract, as they can purport to easy-believism and fallible interpretations. Stick with the scripture and see what the Spirit would lead you to. I'm only offering my suggestions. Hope they help.
