Was talking about the upcoming inerrancy conference yesterday with some so I went and bought Defending Inerrancy by Geisler on iTunes for only $2! Get your copy while you can! So tell me how is this topic different than a apologetics book on defending the bible? I am looking forward to the conference at Macs church, however sad the major expert Geisler will not be there. Do he and Mac not get along?

Sure would appreciate it if John Walton was to be a featured speaker at that conference.

The only difference is that inerrancy is part of apologetics. It fails under that umbrella. Apologetics can and does include inerrancy, canonicity, authority, philosophy, etc....inerrancy is a defense of the apologist

*so really no difference between the 2. Apologetics is just broader.

I see. So the book New Evidence that Demands a Verdict is a better as a apologetic book, but not a book on inerrancy even though it has a section on that topic. This book I have ben reading on my iPad A DEFENSE OF INERRANCY by Geisler is far more in-depth on that topic.

Geisler is 83 years old this year. I wouldn't diss him for not attending (or speaking at!) some conference. Give him a break.

Just so you know, I was not directing my comedic response toward Mr. Geisler, I rather appreciate his contributions.

You would enjoy the current series by Dr mac on Grace to you, as he is defending the scripture as being infallable/inerrant/authoritative/trustworthy etc!

You should read the book 'the Battle for the Bible", as that book explains just how the concept of the Bible being inerrant was getting watered down at places such as Fuller Seminary...
