What's your favorite and why? In my POV Chic tracts do a great job of hitting on Hell, homosexuality, abortion, false teachers, but they all use the sinners prayer and are KJVO.

WOTM tracts are excellent and Monergist based. Grace to You has perhaps the best in my POV and DOG based. Good News tracts has some good ones, but sadly all use the sinners prayer, do not teach repentance, and tend to by synergistic instead of Monergistic.

So my point is none are perfect and all have flaws. So what's the best?

this would be perfect if you removed the last 2 pages. The book of John and the book of Romans. Those are the 2 books I always encourage people to read that are questioning Christianity. Let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit work.

In my opinion, this is terrible. It fails almost immediately with this question and this statement:

"Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?"

I'm sorry, I know we say this in church and in tracts all the time, but where do we find this question in the Bible? Furthermore, the message of the gospel is not how to get to "Heaven" (a transitory state before the resurrection) but how to enter the abundant life of God (the kingdom of God/the heavens).

This is a misplaced emphasis at best.

"God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again."
Where does God say this? In the passage being cited, Jesus is referencing the "Kingdom of God," not going to Heaven. Furthermore, this is said in a context: Nicodemus claims he knows Jesus has come from God because not one can do the things that Jesus is doing unless God is with him. Jesus points out that he doesn't really know what he is talking about. Nicodemus doesn't completely understand what he is seeing and that he is not yet in the Kingdom of God. This conversation has no direct reference to the transitory state of "Heaven," although if you are alive in the Kingdom of God, you may well experience the transitory state if your body dies before the coming of Christ.

The tract follows along this mistaken path and reduces the gospel to a certain version of the atonement, attempting to seal a transaction between the reader and God.

Can God use this mess of a presentation? Yes. Should we present the gospel this way? Not if we know better.

I never looked at it that close as I just generally avoid easy-believism type tracts but thanks for your input. Will this advice convince my pastor? Probably not so I won't bother sending him anything.

Also note if I was not clear. This is a thread on gospel tracts, not pocket gospels or Gideon's. A gospel tract is a ice breaker for an unsaved person to get them to read the word of God and get saVed. But in my experience I have found maybe 1/10 people I hand a gospel or NT too will actually read it so this is why gospel tracts are so valuable.

This is a good point. The tract is a conversation starter, not the conservation itself. As such, it is important to get the conversation off in the right direction, from a truly biblical perspective. Materials such as Jack Chicks tracts come from a perspective that is alien to sound biblical teaching and clear thinking. They also reflect Chick's formidable and eccentric biases, and say things about the message of Jesus that are false.

A tract that restates Paul's address on the Aeropagus (Mars Hill) or the simple message of Jesus, "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand" would be ideal.

Who makes better tracts on abortion, homosexuality, hell, and false teachers? Not all chick tracts are good as ones like "no liars in heaven" is garbage material and filled with lies. However this does not mean their other tracts are bad.

    Read these tracts

    HI THERE
    WHOSE THE REAL HATER?
    Back from the dead

What better tracts on hell and geared for false teachers especially the whose the real hater one.

    Homosexuality

    Doom town
    Sin city

What lies are in these tracts? Great ones for so called gay pastors and denver Colorado is filled with them.

The sin city tract has a gay pastor named "Ray" and I can't find a single lie in the tract. Gay pastors are demon influenced as the tract suggests. Or is this a lie?

As far as I'm concerned, just about anyone else. They present a lot of falsehoods as fact in their tracts - especially in areas of Roman Catholicism and the occult.

Because Chick tracts have a visually distinct look (brand) that carries from one to the other, by using one of their tracts, you are endorsing a body of work and source of information. If he is dishonest in one tract, he is likely to be dishonest in another.

The evening I was converted in June 1979, I was handed a Chick tract entitled, "Kings of the East." In that tract, Chick clearly indicated that the Communist Chinese were building a superhighway in the direction of Israel in order to attack Israel and bring on the battle of Armageddon - thus bringing about the rapture, the end of the world and return of Christ. He claimed it was nearly complete which would mean that the battle would have been fought sometime in the 1980s, when a lot of so-called prophecy experts were predicting the rapture. It started my Christian walk off to a bad start.

Funny, that tract is now out of print and not mentioned anymore on Chick's site.

I haven't read the tract you mentioned, but if it claims that gay pastors are unilaterally demon influenced (more than otherå Christians), then I would say that is a lie without any scriptural support. As someone who knows a gay pastor - he is married to a man and has an adopted daughter) - I am taken aback by his humility, the way God uses him (especially to reach people who wouldn't give me the time of day), and his conservative theology (except for his views on homosexuality). I know about the demonic and I know as much about same sex attraction as one can without experiencing it himself. I know quite a few “gay” folks and share the love of Jesus with them.

I have talked candidly about the issue with my pastor friend on a couple of occasions and he knows where I stand on the issue (same sex attraction is the result of the fall and is not what God intends for humankind), but I can still recognize God’s hand on him. If God can use Balaam’s donkey for His glory, God can use all kinds of messed up people. For what it is worth, I know very few pastors in paid ministry who do not have some sort of obvious moral/spiritual failing.

So, if one has a persistent sin, like being quarrelsome, one is not a Christian?

Not to outright condone or outright condemn anyone, but merely to ask:

Is homosexuality worse than another sin, like say, gluttony? Is homosexuality worse than premarital relations? Is it worse than alcoholism?

You're applying Evan's preconceived ideas about sin to everyone else. You should realize that every Christian is a sinner. Not everyone can apparently be as pious as your are. I'm guessing the moment you made Jesus Lord of every aspect of your life, as you're being beholden to LS teaches, then you stopped sinning altogether, right?

The better question is, can a Christian commit sodomy?

No? But he can commit adultery?

The word homo- and heterosexuality were coined to describe inordinate sexual appetites between same and opposite sexes.

Today the words are used as an identity, like it's some kind of nationality, and it's all a myth. One's actions don't identify him like one's family or nationality. One is not a better person than another because his appetites tend toward more natural (yet still inordinate) relations than another's.

In reality, there is no such thing as a homosexual, or a heterosexual. There is only sodomy, and God hates sodomy.

If you want to entertain the idea of better people, Sodom will rise on the day of judgment and condemn Judea. If the works done in Judea were done in Sodom, they would have repented.
