They are only being honest. We are imperfect, even at our best, we remain imperfect and will remain imperfect until we are given our new body and married to the Lamb. IMHO.

Think about it Salty, when they fail to pass muster with the congregation, or disappoint someone, they can fall back on their name, shrug their shoulders and say, "well we warned you that we were 'imperfect!'"

I once came across a church that called itself the Church You;'ve Been Looking For. My group played a concert there with the understanding we'd get the night offering (we never charged, just asked for an offering) and we were given $40.00. My group felt I was ripping them off, because one of their friends dropped in a hundred dollar bill.

Needless to say, we understood why they were the church you've been looking for, and I understand they closed within a year and the paster and wife ran off with the building fund. :tear:

Or is it just an advertising slogan?

So what happened to the $100 bill?

Well they are starting off on the right foot at least.....only Jesus did not stay in the church. He went out to people, suppered with them, went into peoples houses, places of employment, into the field. Does this church do that?

I like it. Churches have to get real and be real. All the acts and practices of religion are nothing but tradition and world sees right through it. It is hard to witness to the lost in this area. We are in the Bible Belt and almost everyone has had an experience with Church. Most who are not in Church had a negative experience. It is almost impossible to discuss Christ without the word "hypocrites" coming up very early in the conversation. We are not perfect. We need to quit acting like we are perfect.

Sorry. The pastor pocketed the offering, gave me $40.00, which I trusted was the full offering. The band confronted me when I split the money four ways. Then I was told about the hundred, and my wife dropped in a twenty.

I brought this up with the pastor the next day, showing him the signed contract, and he challenged me to prove the $120.00, and when I did, he said he had to take out his expenses.

I should point out that we were really a hot group, and where the church averaged 50-60, in the evening, our being there brought in more then 200 people. It was a 250 seat theater, and nearly full. I'll never know how much he took in, but like I said, they closed down later that year, and God will address his behavior at judgement.

BTW, in more than 1,000 ministry dates in 24 years, I had only one other church not honor the contract.
