The following is a quote that I found in one of our members response to another member regarding this persons views of the responding member's views, and I quote, "I have it all figured out that this board is filled with a bunch of racially prejudiced and racist white people who sadly are probably representative of what's in Baptist Churches.I have no fear of racially prejudiced and racist white people. I hate what God hates and the behavior of the many racially prejudiced and racist on this board falls into that hate category."

I am disgusted with the way certain members address the general membership of this board, and the above is one example of what is going on here all the time, especially regarding the person guilty of passing such moral and spiritual judgement on the majority of us on this board!

What are your feelings about this kind of generalization, and what should we as a board do to resolve this? I say resolve this, because this kind of commentary is being viewed by the general public, and giving this board a bad name!

More importantly, is this kind of inflammatory commentary Biblical when it comes to dealing with others who may have an opinion that is different than yours?

When I read the title, I knew that this had to be another racism thread.

Someone is wallowing in his own hatred and unforgiveness. It is not reflective of Christ or the church or even this board. It reflects the heart of one individual.

Because these statements make us Baptists look wonderful, right?

Funny though, that Rev supports your carrying on even though he said this back in November in response to another member using such language...

Reckon it all depends on who the one posting the racist trash is as to whether or not it's evil? I have a feeling it has more to do with the fact the quote in the OP is so accurate it makes certain people feel uncomfortable. The sooner everyone who claims to be a Christian remembers that we are ALL image bearers of God the better this world will be. White, black, Arab... all are created in God's image.

Sorry you felt this was about race, Rolf?! Please elaborate how this was racist, because that was not the intent. I was merely addressing the kind of hate that has come about because of all the race baiting being allowed on the board. It is my opinion that race baiting needs to be treated like the other MAJOR taboo subject that gets shut down if it is so much as mentioned.

The board needs to clean itself up, and get back to its original goal, which was to discuss Biblical, and Baptist issues, specifically.

I apologize if anyone got the wrong impression as to the intent of this thread, as I only intended to solicit discussion as to what we have digressed to, while moving away from the true direction of the board and its founders. :tear:

Currently no one is liking what they see, and a good majority of older members have been turned off and left, or placed so many people on ignore that the board is no longer a fun place to visit and share. :tear:

Right, brother. And again I ask, if Negro is so objectionable, than please explain why the "United Negro Colleges" is still one of the largest fund raising agencies for black universities and higher education ambitions???

Is this one more institution that can use a term once accepted, and still used among blacks, exclusively of blacks, but FORBIDDEN to be used by otherraces, especially by whites.

If "Negro" is so offensive, than that national fund raising agency needs to change its name to the "United Black Colleges" fund ... right? :BangHead:

    And you say, what?

And your contribution toward this goal is to bring up the problem of race being discussed here again and again and again and again.

So stop bringing up racial issues and posting threads with racial themes. Don't respond to others that do. It's pretty simple.

There you go again! Just. Stop. It.

I say if you spent as much time trying to keep people out of hell as you spend trying to excuse racism, oh what world this would be. Even your sidekick Rev finds usage of that word offensive. He just want say it about you as it would surely put a crack in the Thin Baptist Line you guys have going.

You replaced one addiction with another friend, and it's time you admit it and work to fix it. You cannot see that you are the mirror image of those you attack. You are just on another color line than they are. I honestly believe you are a probably a pretty good guy that has a heart for others and is probably offended deeply when people talk that way in real life. But you just have an obsession with proving white innocent to the point that you will say anything hateful and hurtful to win an internet argument. No one is innocent. We are all born sinners with only the grace of God to save us. That is what we are to be obsessed over.

Can I put what these others are saying in a slightly different context.

We have people here on this board whose one horse they ride being Calvinism and how bad or good it is, others who only write about the KJV, others praising or hating on President Obama. We know what they are going to say before they begin.

Seemingly, almost every thing you post has something to do with race and the politics of race. People see your name connected with a thread and just know it will be about race. GIVE IT A REST. Write about some other issue completely unrelated to race for a few months.

    (fill in the blank).
    Politics is one good example...

Sounds like a valid question to me.

And since Africian-Americian is offensive to me - that should mean that everyone should stop using that term - and that goes for all "hyphenated "-American groups.

Maybe they don't want to reorganize their business with a new name, new corporate papers, new literature, etc.

Why doesn't 20th Century Fox change their name? We're 15 years into the 21st Century, for heaven's sake!

Why is Wells Fargo's logo a stagecoach with a team of horses pulling it? Are we still delivering money via stagecoaches?

There are certainly a lot of gossips on this board, describing the many flaws of fellow posters. Lets review the last 10 threads of RD2:
    1) Does this Reflect - deals with racism
    2) Should women hold office - deals with sexism
    3) Obama - deals with his policies
    4) Is America Racially divided - deals with racism
    5) Rubio stance - deals with gay rights
    6) Requirement to Lie - deals with rationalization
    7) Awesome God - deals with tree creation
    8) Inter-galactic - deals with racism
    9) Marriage - deals with gay rights
    10) Gender surgery - deals with sexual orientation

So to be fair, 9 out of 10 deal with liberal politics, and include at least three dealing with charges of racism.

Let the fault finding gossip continue....

I didn't realize that the 20th century was offensive to you.

It seems that to some, if you disagree with the policies and agenda of the president, you MUST be a bigot/racist, and if you hold to marriage as God defined it being, must be either unlovinfr or Homophobic!

I have always been offended by the 1970s. No, not everyone from Sweden is a fan of ABBA. Enough said...

The 70's called and wanted to know if they could borrow your platform shoes. As far as Swedes that aren't ABBA fans - music snobs :tongue3:

Inflammatory commentary toward those who have different opinions is most definitely a problem on this board...one that most people here aren't willing to admit guilt to.
