As I ready to go hit the streets some of my gospel tracts say "God Loves You" and aimed at the humble, however I usually give them out to everyone. The most popular verse is John 3:16, and as John C can testify Will Metzger whom wrote the best book on evangelism from a Calvinist/Reformed POV does advocate balancing out the message with one of God's love. Unfortunately this is not what is taught in the Way of the Master evangelism philosophy which is just only law and almost never about God's love. This may be one of two points where I disagree with WOTM, the other being that the law is the only way to witness. While it is not the only way, it is the best way in my POV.

The hyper Calvinists say that God only loves the elect and hates the reprobate. The psalms testify that God does hate the wicked, however he hates what they have become. The Biblical Calvinist does recognize that God does love sinners, however He has a special love for the elect, but none the less he does indeed love the world (John 3:16). So what say you of God's love? Its a complex subject.

From God's perspective, is there any love outside of His Son? The One ,'in whom I am well pleased'?

Does God's love roam outside of Christ? Is His love focused solely upon Jesus and His sheep?

Don't feel bad. I do not understand vague questions like that either. Usually they are a debate tactic and they are what is known as leading questions. A leading question is one that is asked with the intent to either ask more leading questions or to be followed up with a final statement. They are intended to lead you to their agenda. It reveals their agenda in drips and drabs in order to control the discussion. I find such tactics have a level of dishonesty to them and are quite like a used car salesman.

Apparently you cannot ask leading questions on this Forum, unless you are a follower of a certain unnamed individual!

Forgive me for not being clearer in my postings. I am trying to unravel my belief(s) concerning this topic one layer at a time; not being deceptive, just not wanting to give you and others, scripture overload...

Christ came to live the life for us we couldn't live. It took complete obedience, a sinless life, to meet the requirements of the Law. He did that for His sheep, and not the goats. When the time came to fulfill the Law, whilst in the garden at Gethsemane, He drank of that bitter cup and took upon Himself the sins of His people, the sheep. It was when our sins, again the sheep, were placed upon Him, God's wrath was then meted out towards Him. The 'One in whom I am well pleased' had His Father withdraw Himself from His own Son, due to His holiness. In His holiness, sin can not go unpunished. Whilst hanging on the cross, He cried out, 'My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?' The same One who Jesus stated in John 11 at Lazarus' tomb, 'I am thankful that You always hear Me.' He then cried, 'Into Thy hands I commend My Spirit', and gave up the Ghost, His Spirit. After His resurrection, He visited His disciples several times before His final ascension in Acts 1.

What I am getting at is that God's love is poured out upon His Son, and those who He redeemed at the cross by the shedding of His blood. God can see us rejoicing in heaven as I type this, and He can see us in time as well. I am trying to type as carefully as I can regarding this subject, because none of us know His mind, neither can we be His counselor.

God sees His sheep as sheep always, seeing He gave them to Jesus from the foundation of the world to atone for their sins and to always be their Shepherd. God saw us as sheep even as we were 'sheep having gone astray'. God sees us as sheep rejoicing in heaven, around the throne. He has known His works from the foundation of the world.

There is no love outside of Christ...
