The op lacks information and therefore is misleading.

“Two-thirds of this spending is not remotely “emergency”; the Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 30% of the authorized funds would be spent in the next 20 months, and over a billion dollars will be spent as late as 2021. This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington – an addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects that further expand our debt.” ~Senator Ted Cruz

Your deep concern for others who are in need is noted.

What scripture do you have to back your reply?

My post suggests nothing one way or the other about others needs. I simply showed that your op was dishonest and misleading as it did not include information about why Cruz voted against the Federal Aid for Sandy relief. He was not against sending aid he was against all the non aid issues being attached to the aid for hurricane sandy. Since that fact tears down your failed op you now obfuscate by trying to make this thread about me.

By the way you have derailed your own thread.

How does your original post demonstrate compassion for others and the love of God?

What scripture do you have to back your OP?

We are talking about the govt spending money - not a church activity. (wouldn't this come under separation of church and state.

Now if a church wants to help victims - that's great - and if they do, they should be able to set the ground rules as to who receives assistance.

Now back to the OP - could be that Cruz is concerned about the misappropriations of federal (aka MY) money.

Second - $700 million that we can't account for from Hurricane Katrina

The OP is really about a two-faced politician who opposes helping people outside his state but says it is the government's responsibility to help people in his state. He says it is a statutory obligation of the gov. to help his state, but he opposes that same obligation for others.

If you will not help others why demand others help you?

No, that's what you want it to be about. But you've been shown that this is a lie. If you continue to say this, that makes you a liar. Your choice.

    If the Crab would control his compassion and subsequent largess to the poor and downtrodden it is likely he would be the third richest man in the country, right behind Bill Gates and the man from Omaha! {Senior moment there.}

This claim is false I have debunked it and you continue the lie. Shame on you.

See folks this is what DNc operatives do. They must stay on message at all costs. Repeating lies to change perception is the name of the game.

As usual you have debunked nothing, you have proven nothing. You only spout opinion and social meanness.

How is it not a contradiction to demand funds be withheld from one region that suffered greatly from a hurricane and demand funds be given to his state after suffering severe flooding?

Another lie. In post #2 I quoted Cruz who gave a reason why he voted against the Sandy funding. That quote and his reasons are fact not my opinion. Stop embarrassing yourself.

How can you possibly hold to your original assertion?! I am literally incredulous at what you are saying!

It has been shown that the pic you linked is leaving out information in an attempt to make someone look bad. It is a lie, and an obvious one, and an intentional one.

Again, you have a choice: admit you were wrong, or be a liar. So far, you've chosen to be a liar. Hopefully you'll change.

Not that I'm a fan of Ted Cruz (because I'm not), but ....

I respectfully disagree with the Fox news, GOP apologists. Cruz is typical of the culture of narcissism that infects to many in our society today. It is all about me and all for me and nothing for you.

Here's the thing, his claims being debunked has nothing to do with your claim.

Your claim spoke to the REASON he did it, and the REASON he did it was NOT what you said. Now, if the claim he made to back up his reason was wrong, then he was wrong. But he was still right to do what he did with the knowledge he had. Therefore, you're still lying.

    LOL! No kidding.

I bring up Ron Paul, another Texan, that railed against earmarks and then would load up bills with earmarks for his district in Texas.

But so what? This is what politicians do--gain benefits for their home district. This is their job.
