Nothing wrong with Baptists, They really know their bibles, and I think Anabaptist were the first baptists, but I'm not sure....

Anyway I am so excited to be here. And I ordered a new bible, its the Rock of Ages" KJV bible, all they had was red in Abba, but it will work.

Anyway WHY I am KJV only...

For me it wasn't any of the things that KJV only people site...I wasn't smart enough to know any of that stuff.

For me it was because God never spoke to me from any modern versions, and He never opened up the scriptures to me from the modern versions.

Don't get me wrong, my brain prefers those modern versions, I am not educated and they are so easy to read and understand...

BUT God chooses which words to go with, what He will move thru. Like the prophet in the OT said "If you don't go with me..."

The other reason is the small connecting words, it wasn't always the translated words...

For example Galatians 2:20 and the word "of Christ" is a world of difference from "faith in Christ"...

And then Colossians 3:14-16 "The Word of Christ" vs "The Message"...

Anyway that is my reason for reading KJV only.

Bob I tried it, and I was so excited when it came out, like in 79 or somewhere in there...

But I opened it and started reading and got this quenching inside, it just didn't give me peace, but instead I received agitation... Colossians 3:15 (Let the peace of Christ act as an umpire)...

Maybe an introduction with English grammar & syntax might be useful to you, my friend and brother in Christ.

EXAMPLES: When you refer to a group of people, it is usually a common practice to use the plural noun---BaptistS.

The third person plural of "they" isn't "there." It is "their."

You claim not to be well educated. There's nothing inherently sinful in that, my friend, but one ought to at least try to learn some basic English grammar and syntax if he/she is to be taken seriously.

Please forgive me for pointing this out to you, dear brother in Christ. You'll notice that I'm from Nashville TN, and "y'all" is acceptable spoken language "in these har' parts"!!!

NO problem. I should use spell checker, I have word...lol

If I can get a grip on the scriptures I'll be happy, hopefully you can over look my grammar and see my heart instead.

    WWJD ? Right?

Wait a minute....thought you are from Pennsylvania. If so then you are Yankee born and bred. "Y'all " is a lazy form of speaking just as "ain't" is an ignorant lowbrow way of speaking.....something you should consider correcting....lessen you want to be considered a local
    rube.

And bet ya cant go down ta da Beer Garten and get a Steg....or two or tree!

Yeah, I was from PA---Not too far from where Deacon lives.

The Lord "moved me" to TN in 1972.

Since my move to TN (to attend the now-defunct Clarksville Baptist College), I've been back probably no more than a dozen times.

The last time I set foot in the Keystone State was in early 2009, and that was to attend my mother's funeral (1913-2009).

I occasionally log on to some PA churches that I either joined (Faith BC, Sellersville PA, 1969-1972) or knew some folks at a couple others.

My oldest sister (80 YO) still lives in PA, but my other siblings have moved either to FL or AZ.

I don't know if/when I'll ever "return" to PA. Right now, that doesn't appear to be the case.

I've lived in the Music City USA for about 21 years now, so unless the immutable God changes His mind and leads me elsewhere, I'll probably remain here.

One last history tidbit: The person for whom Nashville TN is named, NC General Francis Nash, is buried only about 10 miles from my PA "hometown." General Nash died from wounds he suffered in the War for Independence's "Battle of Germantown" in 1777.
Ironically this "War Hero" is buried in a Mennonite Church's [historically pacifistic] cemetery.
