Although some are calling the Pope a Peronist, I myself think that he subscribes to Liberation Theology and is a Red.

In Bolivia, as you know, Bolivian President Evo Morales, a pure Indian who was a cocaine grower/producer presented El Papa with a statue of Jesus crucified on the hammer/sickle of communist Russia--a gift which pleased the El Papa. Morales at the time was wearing a coat with the face of the communist "hero" the murdering Che embroidered over his heart.

    Writes the Jewish Dennis Prager

"The pope’s acceptance of Morales’s gift — along with his attacks on capitalism during his Latin American tour — further confirms one of the most troubling moral developments of our time: The Roman Catholic Church is currently led by a man whose social, political, and economic views have been shaped by leftism more than by any other religious or moral system....

    "
In terms of evil committed, what is the difference between the hammer and sickle and the swastika? Would the pope receive, let alone keep, a Fascist, racist, or Nazi sculpture with a crucified Christ on it? Of course not. Yet the hammer and sickle represents more human suffering than all of them combined. The number of people enslaved and murdered under the hammer and sickle dwarfs the number of people enslaved and murdered by any other doctrine in history....

"What if, in a visit to an American museum, American artist Andres Serrano had presented Pope Francis with a gift — his work of art, Piss Christ — that features a crucifix in a jar of Serrano’s urine?"

You're welcome! It is very sad to see that the Roman Catholic Cardinals elected such an airhead as Pope. He is essentially undoing the work of John Paul II.

Ummm, I don't think the pope is an airhead, he is a Jesuit after all, and they tend to be bright boys. I am amused to think that he caring about the fact people are subservient to the money gods should be a "joke".

I WISH he was undoing the craziness of the JP2, but he is NOT.

I am not a fan of the current pope. With the hammer and sickle thing, I think he looks quite appalled actually, it is a particularly offensive blasphemy after all.

The reports from the Latin American press is that he liked the hammer and sickle crucifix. As an Argentine, this Pope is sometimes called a Peronist because he is of the era of Peron, a populist dictator. It is known that he subscribes to Liberation Theology, considered an attempted merger between communism and Christianity. As Pope, he rehabilitated a couple of communist priests in Latin American who had been disciplined by Pope John Paul II.

On the subject of Argentina, he has refused to comment on the recent murder of Alberto Nissan, a special prosecutor looking into a case from a couple of decades ago where Iranians blew up a Jewish social center in Buenos Aires and murdered about 70 people, mostly children. Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and her late husband made a deal with Iran for oil in return for allow Iran to escape unpunished for bombing the Jewish social center. Kirchner is also a leftist and is suspected in the death of Nissan.

Elsewhere in Latin America, the Cardinal in Cuba cowardly refuses to admit that there are political prisoners in Cuba. The Pope intends to visit an American jail on his upcoming trip but declines to visit the Cuban dungeons or ask for the release of Cuban political prisoners.

Recently the Catholic Church in Cuba said that anyone who had relatives in prison was scum and not worthy of attending Mass themselves. Every Sunday the famous Ladies in White in Cuba are beaten and arrested after Mass by the Castros. The Pope is silent on this also.

Meanwhile he sits in the opulence of the Vatican palace and denounces wealth.

Yes, he is missing in action on the case of human rights in Latin America and is siding with people such as Bolivian President Evo Morales, an ally of Venezuela and Cuba, who along with Ecuador and Nicaragua (Ortega is considered a child molester) are connected with Iran, Russia, China and the narcoterrorists of Latin America. Latin America has collapsed economically and their currencies are very weak. Many Latin American countries are considered poorer than African countries, especially Cuba where communist repression has left Cubans with incomes of $25 per month and the people for sale to rich American corporations who want to exploit this labor, which is cheaper than China.

On a humorous note, the Pope recently denounced air-conditioning but has not turned off the air conditioning in the Vatican which was donated to him by Carrier (I think). But we all love a hypocrite.

I tend to disregard any newspaper reports about the pope and indeed about anyone, as it frequently distorts any words to suit the medias agendas.

People do bang on about the Vatican treasures. It is not the pope's personal items, therefore he is not free to dispose of what basically is the glory box of Western Civilisation. No doubt if the Vatican fell into ISIS hands, everything will be smashed flat starting with the pope. I am glad that this pope is NOT shooting of his mouth so readily, as he is a public figure now.

It has become fashionable to remain silent in the face of tremendous human rights abuses. Here we have a Catholic Continent and look at the leadership. Kirchner is suspected in a murder and in an agreement with Iran to obtain oil in turn for her and her husband's silence on the murder of Jews in her nation--a case never prosecuted and involving the murder of children.

The Pope is silent about this human rights abuse.

Evo Morales, President of Bolivia, is a drug grower and trafficker. He donated the hammer and sickle crucifix to the Vatican.

The Pope is silent about Bolivian involvement in narcoterrorism.

Venezuela is under intense repression and may be the murder capital of the world.

The Pope is silent about Venezuelan human rights abuse and the theft of an election by Maduro.

The President of Nicaragua is a known child molester. The Pope is silent.

The Cuban people are under brutal poverty from Communist oppression. The Pope is silent.

Mexico is so corrupt that a leading drug lord walks out of a maximum security prison. The Pope is silent.

Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil are all engaged in sex tourism and the prostitution of children. The Pope is silent.

Latin America, a Roman Catholic continent, is a sea of squalor and degradation with massive human rights abuse but the Pope is silent. He was born and raised in the dictatorships of Argentina where people disappear never to be found again and he cannot claim ignorance of these massive oppressions and the silence and complicity of Roman Catholic Cardinals, Bishops, and priests.
