It is bad form to air marital frustrations in public.

 

Do they teach the sinner's prayer saves you or do they trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ?

God does love you. It is the prevailing theme of the Bible.

It is easy to believe when led by the Holy Spirit.

Any human demand of performance on our part to secure and hold the salvation of the elect negates the Good in Good News.

You have a few choices:

1. Put your foot down and tell the Mrs you are the spiritual leader in your household and you will attend the church of your choosing.

~or~

2. Open your heart and mind and receive the instruction from the pastor of the church you are attending.

God instructed Israel not to stiffen their necks as their forefathers did. But rather yield, enter and serve the Lord. Their stubbornness led to disobedience. You've been fairly stiff necked about this church since you first shadowed the door.

Try this. Spend a deliberate amount of time in prayer specifically concerning why you are attending this church in this season. Ask God to open your heart and mind to hear what the Spirit would say to the church when you are there.

Give it a couple of months and let us know how it is going. I'm willing to wager you will be telling us how much the pastor has grown in the two months you've been praying.

Padre's #3 post was sound and biblically wise.

Specifically what in his post do you disagree with? Why?

Because he's not a Calvinist his advice is to be disregarded? That's your foolishness talking.

 

You entered into the union unadvisedly. The former plans and expectations you had for your life and ministry are gone like smoke in the wind. And I would emphasize, they were YOUR plans, and YOUR expectations.

Time to move on. Focus on a secular job, so you can provide for your wife and imminent family. Or . . .

It may be time for you and the wife to call it quits before any children come along. Then abandon all hope for serving behind any pulpit.

It's clear that your marriage is the thing now. Not your street preaching, not your theological studies, and definitely not for your incessant hyper criticism of everything non-evan. It's time for true devotion, not seminary. Shelve your books and pull out the Bible, and a good devotional like Morning and Evening.

Prediction. You will scorn this advice and you will grow increasingly discontented with your wife and situation. True ministry will be something you can view from the mountain top, but you may never enter.

You place too much emphasis on your belief in Calvinism. Padre's advice was Biblical and wise.

 

Padre that was the best advice, but this man has no ears. The thing I see is a constant criticism to his wife and a 6 year old step son, slowly destroying a family.

 

I'm guessing Evan thinks if God will show grace to his current church leadership (a church he is attending even though he disagrees with pretty much everything they do, apparently) then the church will suddenly become Calvinists and will emphasize that Lordship Salvation is required.

He's so blinded by his chosen theology that he's missing the sound scriptural advice he's been given in the last few threads. Even though many respectable brothers and sisters have given him good advice, he still wants the church to bend to his whims, rather than him either following the church in its teaching or separating and finding a church more to his doctrinal liking.

 

It seems this is where an education does not equal a true calling. Evan has went to college, has a website, films himself street preaching, and yet still has no edification. That is why he is here looking for good feedback. He talks a good game, but as another poster put it, he has no real life experience other than confrontations...

"God loves you" is a problem with theology? Hmmm...that's a new for me in the ongoing Calvinism vs. Free Will brawl.
