I am patient with stupidity but not with those who are proud of it.

Unless you are including yourself this sounds a bit prideful.

It's a daily part of my job.

People come for their first cardiac stress test convinced that I'm there to kill them.
My task is to get them through it and convince them they did a great job whether they have heart disease or not.

The fun part of my job is trying to work out what patients are trying desperately to hide.

Each patient is asked to fill out a written questionnaire before the study to determine risk factors and symptoms
Among the questions, it asks in a number of different ways, "Have you had chest pain?" ....They commonly leave the answer blank or circle "no".

Before the study I interview them. Its' not uncommonly for it to go something like this:

Me: So why are you having a stress test?

Them: My doctor told me to.

Me: Why did you go to the doctor?

Them; My wife told me to go.

Me: Why did your wife tell you to go?

Them: She says I'm having chest pain.

No wonder, then, you don't chase it off.

My guess is that those who are proud of their stupidity, unknowingly proud, unknowingly stupid, you never see as they have dropped dead, or you see them after a heart attack they were fortunate enough to survive.

So who gets to decide who is stupid?

    And on what authority?

    The Bible...right?

Proverbs 18:2 — A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

Proverbs 1:7 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 12:1 — Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
