    Hello everyone.

I just joined your forum today so thought I'd post a short introduction.

My name is Janet. I am a 46 year old Christian wife and mother. I am also blessed to be called Grandma by six beautiful grandchildren. I was raised in the Baptist church. My uncle (Dad's best friend, not by blood) was a Baptist minister. He and my aunt went to live for several years as missionaries in Honduras where they built a high school and an orphanage. At the time, the only ones that existed in that country (the size of Ohio). Until then, they helped orphans in their home. My dad traveled there to help them educate the locals on how to build school desks and the buildings and such. On one of his trips back to the US, my uncle baptized both me and my dad on the same day.

Though I haven't done missions many of my family members have, including one of my sons who spent a couple months in South Africa and Botswana. He was also thrilled to help hand out the Samaritans Purse gifts when in Zimbabwe. He was humbled to discover toothbrushes caused more excitement in the children than toys.

I'm Christian and raised my children to be Christians and, by the grace of God, they are doing the same with their children but I am a sinner and I do have struggles. I penned a memoir to share my personal time in an abusive marriage in which God saved me. God is great and he never leaves you alone. You may not see or hear him but he's there. I'm living proof of that.

    Welcome.

Mrs. Rolf and I think that the U.P. is about as close to heaven as one can get in the Midwest.

    Cheers.

I almost mentioned that Detroit was the farthest from it, but did not want to offend anyone.

As if Detroit itself is not offensive enough... *laugh*
