    Trump's
    The mocking of the reporter.
    The self-righteous bragging.
The in your face and rude comments
    The lack of respect
    The racism of his statements
    The crass materialism

All these and more is what gives others in the world such a false and hateful image of Americans. The ugly American is alive and well and Donald Trump is the spokesperson.

I was surprised in 2012 that evangelicals and fundamentalists backed a Mormon for president. I am again surprised that this same group backs a man who is anything but evangelical and fundamental when it comes to Christ.

However I am not surprised at how some, and it has already been done, will and have attempted to derail the thread. I will not go into why they do this, but it is obvious to all what lies behind their love of Trump and hatred of Obama. We should simply ignore their "red herring" replies and stick with the topic of the thread ... the Ugly Americanism of Trump.

Revmitchell, do you contend that Trump's faults are OK because Obama has the same faults?

He had a meeting with black evangelicals yesterday which Trump billed as an endorsement meeting. However, the attendees totally denied that and said it was an informational get together.

    Trump:
Saw thousands and thousands of Muslims celebrating 9/11, "with his own eyes."
    No one confirms this.

Had an endorsement meeting with black evangelicals.
    No one confirms this.

Says blacks are responsible for 81% of white homicides.
    No one confirms this.

Says the Trans Pacific Partnership is a deal that was designed for China to come in and take advantage of everyone."
No one confirms this. (China is not a party to the deal.)

Says the number of illegal immigrants is 30 to 34 million, not 11 million
    No one confirms this.

    DITTO. Thumbsup

It's as though everything of Christ is thrown to the wayside in order to win a political election.

I would like to know, considering there appears to be nothing of Christ about Trump and his behavior, how evangelicals expect to do anything other than further contribute to the moral destruction of this country by once again backing someone as seemingly non-Christ-following as Trump?

It's because they don't really care. When you have folks saying "this is the most important election of our lifetimes" every election cycle, scared people will vote for the devil himself if they think the devil will keep them safe and politically give them what they want.

After the way he made fun of that disabled reporter, the RNC should have just removed him from consideration for the GOP nomination.

Quote from the article at link:

...the almost certain fact that some number of American Muslims celebrated the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Hilarious. A supposed news site using the phrase "the almost certain fact". That's the kind of quality reporting you get on Breitbart. That's your go-to source for news. LOL.

Trump says that he "saw thousands and thousands of Muslims celebrating with his own eyes" and your rebuttal is a dodgy news article saying "the almost certain fact" that "some Muslims celebrated".

Surely you can see the two statements are miles apart.

You know ITL, with all the unGodly stuff this guy has done during this election cycle, I keep asking myself why some Christians are trying so hard to defend him?

Trump is one of the most unsophisticated liars I've ever seen. He doesn't even make an effort to appear truthful. But then, Trump supporters aren't exactly Rhodes scholars.

On top of that, the pandering being done by Faux News and Breitbart is sickening. Trump suggested he should charge CNN for his appearance in their next debate, because he's so good for ratings. It's a lesson that Faux News has learned, that's for sure.

You need to go back and actually read the article. The source is the NY Post. It is a digital copy of the article they posted just after 911 reporting on some celebration in New York and New Jersey. So no the article is not "dodgy" the source is credible and we know it did happen. It is unlikely that there were thousands and thousands in New Jersey but that is just numbers. The fact is it did happen. It certainly can be appropriate to gig Trump on exaggeration but it is false that it never occured at all.

It's truly disgusting,. They've allowed him to make the Presidential process into his year and a half reality show that garners ratings.

It's from an op-ed piece. It's not a news article.

No, we don't know that. I agree with the statement that it's an almost sure fact there were Muslims celebrating. It's believable.

You say it was a fact and your proof is a piece that says, "the almost certain fact".

The truth is that it was never reported that thousands and thousands of Muslims celebrated 9/11. So far, the "proof" has been one line in the Washington Post about a handful of Muslims cheering from a rooftop and the op-ed piece from your article.

Keep in mind that during 9/11 NOBODY knew who was responsible, so it's hard to say WHY a Muslim would celebrate the bringing down of the WTC towers. It could have been a generic celebration against Jews, since many of the businesses in the towers were owned by Jews.

The hub-bub is about Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner, claiming he personally saw thousands of Muslims celebrating 9/11 and the fact that there are only two shaky sources that even mention it as a possibility.

Terrorism was suspected but not confirmed until the second plane hit.

Now if you could just get Trump to admit that, people might give him a break. But he wants to insist there were thousands and thousands that HE saw.

I again, don't understand why you're trying to defend his lie.

I don't think anyone ever really doubted that there were probably Muslims somewhere in the US celebrating. I'm sure over in Afghanistan and Iraq, they were told Americans were over her celebrating when we started bombing them or after we caught SH and OBL.
