Donald Trump Opens Commanding Lead in New CNN Poll

Donald Trump is feeling higher than the skyscrapers he’s built as a new poll shows him with a commanding lead in the Republican primary field.

A CNN/ORC poll shows the real estate mogul with 36 percent support, leading the closest competitor, Senator Ted Cruz by 20 points.

Dr. Ben Carson fell 8 points to 14 percent; Florida Senator Marco Rubio drew 12 percent and the rest of the field lied below 5 percent, including Jeb Bush at 3 percent.

The poll marks Trump’s widest lead since he launched his campaign in June. Going inside the poll, Trump holds double digit leads on crucial issues like the economy, illegal immigration, the budget, ISIS and foreign policy.

Political media continues to lie dumfounded at the rise and staying power of the Donald, since most of the controversies he’s sparked would’ve been the death nail to candidates in previous years.

Across TV news and digital, most politics and media analysts predict a Republican wipeout in the general election if Trump wins the nomination.

Interesting. Across TV news and digital, most political and media analysts have been utterly wrong about The Donald. So what makes you think they will suddenly be on the mark with their prediction of a Republican wipeout in the general election? Their track record for this cycle is poor; to say the least.

The media has been proven to be liars for Obama and so they cannot influence public opinion anymore. For example, CNN is only kept alive by forced payments from people on cable hookups and only watched by people stuck in airports. MSNBC is only watched by NBC employees, etc. The main use for the New York Times is to line the bottom of birdcages in New York City.

The GOP elite is disgruntled because they can't get another Rino to run against Hillary the Liar so they are threatening to donate to Hillary the Liar and to vote for Hillary the Liar.

"His popularity is traceable to the fact that he rejects the moral authority of the media, breaks their commandments and mocks their condemnations. His contempt for the norms of political correctness is daily on display." (Pat Buchanan)

Excellent! The media are often ignorant and always Democrat and incapable of fairness. That includes Howard Stern show star Megan Kelly.

Yep, just look at the picture they use on Trump - sure don't see the halos they had around Obama last time. Then they're doing the "don't throw me in brier patch, PLEASE!" routine:.

. . .Across TV news and digital, most politics and media analysts predict a Republican wipeout in the general election if Trump wins the nomination. . .

Most politics and media analysts? Oh, whatever should we do?

but the polls are showing a dead heat.

He's found the hot button issues that will elect the republican nominee and he keeps punching those buttons. The other nominees continue to ignore the importance of those issues at their own peril.

"Trump has his own audience, which is in many cases as big as or bigger than the media covering him. He doesn't need the media. He enjoys them being around. He likes toying with them. He likes being provocative around them. To him, the media is a plaything...Put simply, the media can't take Trump out, and that scares the heck out of everybody, particularly on the Republican side.

"Not only can the media not take Trump out, the media can't hurt him. And when they try, he gets even more powerful, or more popular. And this fact, this phenomenon of a single presidential candidate owning and controlling the media is one of the greatest upsetting, out-of-balance aspects of this whole campaign...

"And because of all this, it just adds to the animosity that they feel. He's breaking every rule and getting away with it. He's breaking every rule and getting more popular. He rises in polls with every rule break that he engages in. As such, there is a growing, gnawing feeling in the establishment that there's nothing they can do. The media is the great middleman. Trump doesn't need a middleman to get his message out. Trump's crowds are five blocks long." (Rush Limbaugh)

I think that Trump is headed for the nomination although the country clubs do not support him and apparently intend to defect to Hillary if the GOP does not nominate another Rino. The rich of both parties want cheap labor no matter what. The rich think that they can stay rich in a collapsed economy by going to a class society such as is found in Europe.

Perhaps. If the GOP can scare enough of the populace that the Muslim Boogeyman is coming to get us, then they might have a shot with other less alienating candidates than Trump.

But if Trump is the candidate, there's too many negatives working against him. It'll look a lot like the Obama vs Romney results.

The rich will go for the Clintons if Trump is nominated. The central issue is an endless supply of cheap labor for the rich; Trump does not believe in the sweatshops of the rich.

Right. He just believes in hiring illegal immigrants to do the grunt work for his companies.Rolleyes

I'm sure that he hasn't wanted to use that cheap labor in China to keep sending those pretty ties and cufflinks and Trump Teddy bears all with their "Made in China" labels.

Trump just has his name on stuff--it is like a brand. At any rate, Trump wants the borders closed, which steps on the toes of the rich of both parties. I am not leaning towards Trump but his appeal is based upon the fact that the Democrats want open borders as we have now and so do rich Republicans in the country clubs and on Wall Street.
