Yet all the Trump folks seem to think that 'The Donald' is the only one that can beat Hillary in the general election.

She beats Cruz by a little more than 3 points; She beats Trump by almost 6 points.

In other words, out of the four top polling Republicans, Trump gets beat worse than anyone by Clinton and only Rubio wins.

Other than the immigration bill he sponsored, what other issues could be be characterized as fallling on the side of the Democrats?

That is enough. It's HUGE. If Rubio can misread the mood of the electorate so badly on immigration, he'll do it again on other matters. And there were two really HUGE immigration bills. The other is less well known.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...tion-bill-allow-unlimited-muslim-immigration/

He was also the 60th vote on Obamatrade.

He's a dealmaker in the McConnell/McCain mode, supported financially and owned by the republican establishment. He will sell out conservatives whenever he gets a chance.

And now he's trying to run backwards from that record.

"The unmistakable gaping hole in Rubio’s conservative record is his active and prominent voice for amnesty and comprehensive open borders. When judging a member’s work in the broader conservative cause, dissension on one issue would not taint their entire record. But in the case of Rubio and immigration, due to the importance of the issue and the fact that he carried the amnesty bill on his shoulders, even after his own promises were proven wrong, has severely strained his relationship with the grassroots. Conservatives feel as if Rubio didn’t just work across the aisle, but delivered the votes needed across the aisle for liberal Senator Chuck Schumer and the open borders movement against the center-right rule- of- law coalition.

Aside for immigration, Rubio has a weak spot for some aspects of the populist fiscal agenda that are not inherently conservative. While his strong position against corporate welfare overlaps with the conservative agenda, parts of his anti-poverty agenda are not built upon the foundation of free market and limited government principles. He opposes the requisite downsizing of government in order to balance the budget. He supports keeping the costly Obamacare mandates on pre-existing conditions, and he has supported government intervention in hiring employees and incentivizing wage increases. "

Bingo! And he evidently doesn't manage his money so well; it's how he came to be 'owned':

Billionaire Lifts Marco Rubio, Politically and Personally

"...A detailed review of their relationship shows that Mr. Braman, 82, has left few corners of Mr. Rubio’s world untouched. He hired Mr. Rubio, then a Senate candidate, as a lawyer; employed his wife to advise the Braman family’s philanthropic foundation; helped cover the cost of Mr. Rubio’s salary as an instructor at a Miami college; and gave Mr. Rubio access to his private plane.

The money has flowed both ways. Mr. Rubio has steered taxpayer funds to Mr. Braman’s favored causes, successfully pushing for an $80 million state grant to finance a genomics center at a private university and securing $5 million for cancer research at a Miami institute for which Mr. Braman is a major donor.

Even in an era dominated by super-wealthy donors, Mr. Braman stands out, given how integral he has been not only to Mr. Rubio’s political aspirations but also to his personal finances.

Mr. Rubio, 43, is unabashed in acknowledging the influence of Mr. Braman, a commanding and litigious figure with so much clout in Miami that he almost single-handedly recalled a sitting mayor.....

....The reliance on Mr. Braman is likely to put a spotlight on the finances of Mr. Rubio, who ranks among the least-wealthy candidates in the emerging Republican field. Mr. Rubio left the Florida House of Representatives in 2008 with a net worth of $8,351, multiple mortgages and $115,000 in student debt. In his latest financial disclosure form, for 2013, he reported at least $450,000 in liabilities, including two mortgages and a line of credit.

Mr. Braman and aides to Mr. Rubio have declined to say how much personal financial assistance he has provided to Mr. Rubio and his wife, directly or indirectly, but it appears to total in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. ......."

He didn't 'misread' anything, his owners directed him. But it backfired on them and still is backfiring in the form of TRUMP.

The GOP fears Trump because he refuses to follow their script. Like last night when he reminded Jeb! that his brother allowed the Bin Laden family to fly out of the country when air travel was shut down for everyone else.

You could almost hear the collective gasp of shock, surprise and dismay from the GOP and the establishment media when Trump let that little infobite loose on live TV. Laugh

'The establishment', as carpro refers to it, cannot control Trump. He doesn't want their money he doesn't need their money therefore 'the establishment' has no control over him. He's probably more dangerous to them than Ron Paul would have been as far as revealing their dirty secrets. His knowledge of dubya allowing the Bin Laden family to fly out of the country is just a tiny tidbit of all the crap he's aware of, you can bet on that.

I remember hearing/seeing that on TV right after the towers went down and I gasped at that. I Knew there was something rotten in Denmark (oops that's probably not PC).

Those poll numbers are years away. With a Trump-Clinton race, it is impossible to figure out who would carry what state a year from now. It is next to impossible to predict the South. The Donald will not sweep the South.

I think Trump will crush Clinton in the electoral college.

No way. Trump has no ground game. He has virtually no organization to get out the vote. He LITERALLY phones in interviews. He relies on free press coverage. He doesn't really go out and meet people, he has spectacular rallies. He campaigns four or five days a week. If Trump is the nominee the Democratic vote machine will be pushing their turbos into overdrive. Trump wouldn't stand a chance.

Didn't say I was for him, just making a prediction. What states do you think Clinton will carry with her track record?

You can never tell. Possibly he could if he promised to return the confederate flags which had to come down by edict.

"The south, I love the south, they are great people, I love their flag, It's a beautiful flag. It's part of the great American legacy. My first day as president I will let their flag fly with Old Glory!"

    Might work.
