“Hating someone is like burning down your own house to get rid of a rat.”

What about getting a rat out of my house and killing it with a hammer, as I did a few weeks ago?

Well, at least you did not burn your house down.

I don't hate nobody. I know a few people that I dislike but I try to find the best in everybody. In some people that is harder to do then others. For those ones, I pray for.

I tend to like people by default and over-all prefer to assume the best about others. But I also tend to internalize conflict, I can actually feel it physically (in my chest and stomach). If I dislike a person it's usually related to that. I can definitely see how holding onto those feelings is bad for you--you aren't hurting anyone but yourself by doing so.
