No, this isn't a vanity thing,( though the header might imply that.) I will list some names that are
notable in the evangelical world. These are people that I have interacted with face-to-face.

I'm not merely citing those I heard preach/lecture like Carl Henry,Sinclair Ferguson and Stuart Briscoe.

In the first category I will name those I had only a singular conversation with. I will not go in
alphabetical order or arrangement of some perceived level of importance.

    Alistar Begg
    Michael Horton
    R.C. Sproul
    D.A. Carson
    James White
    John Greer
    Michael Barrett
    Carl Amerding
    Stuart Olyott
    Hywel R. Jones
    Willem Van Gameren
    Ruth Tucker
    William MacDonald

In this second category I will list those people who I have had multiple conversations with.
In some cases those multiple conversations took place on a given weekend. In other situations
I have spoken with them periodically over the course of years. As time goes by I note that in a
number of instances the last time I saw them occurred decades ago.

    Iain Murray
    John MacArthur
    Phil Johnson
    Dave Hunt
    Philip Ryken
    John Gerstner
    James M. Boice
    Pete Enns
    Bryan Maclaren

I am sure I will be editing this OP because other names will pop in my head.

How about some of you contributing to this topic?

I realize that some of the most important Christians in your life are not famous. They have
had a greater impact than a dozen of well-known believers.

I just tried to dream up a list that would make someone think.. I'm even bad at that.

I have shook hands with 6 people on my list, but I don't know any of them.

Well Kevin, two members of your list have died. That means that about ten of those "evangelists" need to be evangelized.

As for my 22 names --five are deceased. That's a net of 17. Two are worth evangelizing. Well, at least one --the other is spotty though.

Actually three have died that I know of, Crouch, Falwell, and Hyles. Looks like Stanley and Ruckman might be following them, real soon. :(

Yeah, you're right. I forgot that Mr. TBN had died.
When Ruckman passes I wonder who can fill his nasty shoes on the most extreme side of KJV Onlyism?

I bumped into Pete Enns in a stair well a few years back and got to talk with him awhile.

I've done stress tests on Grace Jones, James Taylor and Charlie Brown... Whistling

    ...not the famous ones

I had a staredown with Samuel L. Jackson a few years back in Times Square, but we didn't talk.

If you merely brushed by him with no discussion --no points for you.

I guess crossing the stress in NYC and seeing Bill and Hilliary near Central Park would earn me no points - even got a picture that's posted on the Friends of the Baptist Board Facebook page.

Even a "Howdy" doesn't rake in any points much less a pic with no verbal interplay. Sorry, them's the rules.

Now Ruckman has died, even if I did forget who he was, and I heard something about Andy Stanley going over to the dark (homo) side. The list is fading fast
