I think that I stopped watching the Academy Awards in the 1970s. Would anyone disagree that the Awards are related to both the box office and Hollywood liberal opinion? So I have to wonder why Blacks are so angry with White Democrats? But mostly I have to wonder why I should care this issue at all?

    In part.
White Republicans can't be this dumb? There are plenty of White Republicans in the Academy too, ya know? Your comments and others like it are more of a reason why the country is divided by race than anything President Obama has ever said.

Such stupid questions are symptomatic of the systemic privilege that blinds a lot of white Americans.

Why don't white people who wonder these things start to wonder why THEY are so angry about Blacks being angry about the racism and racial prejudice coming from some white people?

Why don't white people wonder about the anger espoused by Donald Trump, his followers, and more and more angry white folks who are throwing their support behind him everyday?

Rumor has it that they supposedly have registered as Republicans along with a lot of other seasoned Democrats so that they can choose the GOP nominee.

    Be very afraid!!!

I thought the Demoncrats sent all their dead voters to mess with the Republican primaries. The Demoncrats have already chosen their well qualified criminal as their candidate, and a women on top of that.

Bill is just waiting to get a shot at some more interns, now that he has learned some tricks from Bill Cosby.

When I say "black people" I mean some of them. This whole campaign that blacks continue to trump it is self-defeating. A true Christian would not participating in such junk. When you defend the Black Lives Matter movement it signals that you are a very animated racist.

I'm not a fan of most movies of the last nearly two decades or so. Blacks constitute around 12-13% of the population. Let's say for the sake of argument that the same percentage holds up with the number of black actors (both male and female). What percentage of black actors are super-talented like Denzel? Just a few --right?

Movies are made to make money --a big profit. Movies have to have broad appeal. Out Of Compton does not have broad appeal. Chinese audiences --and that constitutes a huge hunk of movie profits --do not enjoy those kind of films.

We do not have actors of the calibre of a Sidney Poitier these days if you are interested in skin pigmentation.

Are you advocating a quota system for black actors? Do you want to have, in effect --tokenism? Are you against those of us who have lighter skin tones --solely because of that factor?

Are you familiar with Thomas Sowell? He is wonderful with keen insight. Check out his Affirmative Action Around The World :An Empirical Study. Give me your reponse if you have, indeed, read it.
He's not a racist. Therefore your argument rests on a false premise. That applies to his supporters. Trump has more Black and Latino support than you would suspect due to your prejudices.

The idea that the Academy has plenty of White Republicans is just plain false. Hollywood, like the news media, is almost all Democrat and has been for years.

Stop that lil ploy. If defending them makes someone an animated racist then railng against them makes someone an even bigger animated racist.

True Christians would look at it and call it what it is as it is a wickedness and poison to society.
What you're saying about movies is the same thing folks said about rap. The primary buyers of rap music and all those things associated with hip hop are young white folks who don't make the music.

Movies are like music. People didn't know there was mass appeal until after they made the music. Movies are the same.

    Sure we do.

Nope. But I do find it interesting that the majority never wants to let go of the power of making all sorts of decisions about everything especially when it's in their favor. I'm advocating that this archaic construct called the Academy be opened to include more folks than the mostly (94%) white people

I think Trump has far less support from Blacks and Latinos than folks in the GOP have convinced themselves. But I guess they got to put on a positive face since it's so early.

They don't want their splintered party to know that they already know they don't stand a chance in the General.

And the only way that changes is if Bernie Sanders and his Socialist choker get the Democrat nominee, which he won't.

Why? Because it doesn't fit with your narrative?

    Believe that if you want.

Name some current Republican actors or some Hollywood contributors to the GOP. Hollywood must be 90% Democrat and 10% Unemployed--so it is rich white Democrats who run the Academy, make the movies, and hype the inferior product. This is a Democrat Party fight.

As you can see, there are very few and many are retired and others are past their peak. The performing arts is mostly a Democrat thing and attracts few Republicans. Republicans are mostly offended by Hollywood and do not attend movies.

Man, what are you talking about, very few? What, did you think that was an exhaustive list or something? You said name some and I did. What does their being past their prime have to do with whether or not they can vote in the Academy?

That's as about as dumb a statement as I've seen on this board in a while. That same Hollywood crowd produces your tv shows and music too.

i guess Republicans don't listen to music or watch tv either, huh?

I see a lot of anti-white racism coming from Zaac and the diversity crowd.

But from the other side : Charlotte Rampling : "One can never really know but perhaps the black actors did not deserve to make the final list. Maybe the black actors don't deserve to be on the final stretch?"

Michael Caine : "You can't vote for an actor because he's black --and you can't just say 'I'm going to vote for him, he's not very good, but he's black, I;ll vote for him."

Gerald Molen (producer of Schindler's List) : "There is no racism except for those who create an issue. I say to all my co-members:'Stop acting like spoiled brats. Look to the next awards show for recognition --if you deserve it.' "

Now ain't that something? The white privileged can see racism coming from everyone but themselves. Who would have ever thunk it?

Perhaps not. Or perhaps they did. When you've 94% of the voting Academy is white, I don't know why anyone is surprised.

It's just more white privilege in yet another area that some white folks don't think things are biased. Yet the same group of folks will rant all day that 90+% of Blacks voted for Obama.. Proof that some of ya stick your head in the sand and see what you want to see when you want to see it.

Who said to vote for them because they are black? Did he say that about the white actors? Of course not because the majority of the Academy is white and no one is gonna question whether or not the reason that there has only been a handful of recipients of color might be because the Academy members are voting for actors just because they are white.

C'est dommage. No one would EVER bring up that double standard.

There's that classic privileged blame the "victim" mentality. I guess the Jewish man would have us believe that there was no -ism in Germany either except for the Jews who created an issue.

The Academy has about 6,000 members. In an industry that is overwhelmingly liberal and Democrat, it can be extrapolated that almost everyone who votes in the Academy is Democrat.

    Hollywood is mostly anti-Christian.

And no white women won in the nearly 50 year old history of the Miss Black America Pageant.

But in the all-inclusive Miss America contest 8 have been black :84,90,91,94,03,04 and 2010.

As for Miss USA : six have been black :90,93,95,02,07 and 08.

Thankfully, all black young women who qualify for these last mentioned contests do not believe in catering to single-race events.

    So is Indiana.

I don't have a problem with folks rejecting Christians who don't represent Christ.

It's hilarious that white people kept everything exclusively white for nearly 400 years in this land because they are the majority. Yet they are upset that the folks who they treated as less than decided to make their own. Does explain why racist white people destroyed Black Wallstreet.

The pageant started in 1921 and specifically said you had to be of the white race.

    SO?
What single-race event have you mentioned? Miss Black America is open to everyone.

Do you and a large part of white America only believe in catering to white Presidents and Vice Presidents??
