If her application had been approved - we would never have heard of Anne Frank

According to that story - Cuba and Canada also turned away refugees.

Isn't it amazing that ctb knows exactly how long she would have lived, and where, and that the US Government decreased her ordained and decreed number of days upon this earth?

Was a large portion of Ann's religion slaughtering people around the world? Were they using refugee status as a means to infiltrate other countries to conquer them?

Once again another failed comparison by liberals.

Interesting the lack of sympathy shown by some on the board. Is this the mark of a conservative? Nope, don't think so. But it is the mark of a philosophy that takes none of Christ's teachings seriously. Just a worldly "me first" philosophy.

I agree, no sympathy shown for those who have been and are being raped and slaughtered by terrorists going into countries around the world. Ignoring those people is ungodly.

Anne Frank did not apply for a visa. Her father Otto Frank did and was refused. He applied to other countries as well. No one would take him except for Cuba. However 10 days after his visa was issued, Cuba rescinded it when Germany and Italy declared war on the US in the days following the Pearl Harbor attack.

The rule at the time was that no refugee with close relatives in Europe could come to the U.S., on the grounds that the Nazis might hold their relatives hostage in order to force the refugee to undertake espionage for Hitler.

    Another tragedy of the war.

BTW, a Democrat was in the White House and Democrats controlled both the US House and the US Senate during this time.

    Washington (CNN)
Top U.S. intelligence officials said Tuesday that ISIS was likely to attempt direct attacks on the U.S. in the coming year and that the group was infiltrating refugees escaping from Iraq and Syria to move across borders.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper warned that ISIS and its eight branches were the No. 1 terrorist threat, and that it was using the refugee exodus from violence in Iraq and Syria to hide among innocent civilians in order to reach other countries.

Clapper said ISIS was "taking advantage of the torrent of migrants to insert operatives into that flow," adding that they were "pretty skilled at phony passports so they can travel ostensibly as legitimate travelers."

    Crabby,
    Two questions:
How many refugess should we allowe in the US
(and please give an actual number) what 5, 10, 50, 100 million?
and how do we determine they will not be a threat to national security?

Well, let's see. The Democrats in congress refused visas for all Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi occupied Europe.

At the same time the Democrat in Chief, FDR, rounded up all the Americans of Japanese descent and put them in concentration camps and stole all their property.

But now the Muslim in Chief is allowing all his fellow Muslim radical extremists into the country to bring the same sort of mayhem here that Europe has been suffering from for the past year.

The difference is that Americans still have the right to keep and bear arms while the Europeans can't. We can still defend ourselves against the rape and robbery gangs. The Europeans can't. Let that be a lesson to all of us. Defense of self and others is a God given right. And we will use it!

Genuine refugees who agree to live peaceably in the US and assimilate in the the US culture are welcome. Those who refuse to assimilate but rather try to force Sharia law on our communities are not. And we can make that "not" a reality if required.

Crabby would have everyone ignore these facts. I can't help but believe folks like him actually want these terrorists here. There just is no other alternative.
