. . . that an "AdBlocker" is installed in your browser. It is blocking advertisements and possibly other essential functions in our site. Eek

We run ads only by google and some christian small businesses who wants to reach more christian folks. After I took over, I have restricted the google ads to show only relevant content and nothing in appropriate.None of the ads download anything malicious and could do any damage.
It is like the commercials you see on TV and news paper.
It is a small way, each of us could do something to support the site.

Right, I agree. One cannot be, or should not be expected to not try to make some sort of living. Filth sites do it, why not a Christian site?

I don't have an ad blocker, though. I have a modified and periodically updated hosts file. About 5 years now without anit-virus program other than what's built into Windows and no viruses or trojans or other weird things.

    Here is what I tried.
Looks like, if the ad block is paused then it resumes back when different pages are visited.
Or if the browser is closed or reopened.
Instead if we select don't run on this pages on this domain, then adblocker adds baptistboard.com to the exclude list and the pop up doesn't come up.
I also tried restarting the system and it still works.
Here are the screenshots for your reference.

meh, I've grown use to and fond of the perpetual pop ups here. It's kind of like a forum with an integrated Atari Asteroids game. :p

It is not enough to just disable adblock. Once you have used it you will need to completely remove it from your computer. Not sure what the glitch is with it but that has been my experience. Also there is another addon that will get rid of the irritating warning ads as well. If you would like to know what it is let me know.

Did you try the steps that I showed by selecting - Don't run ads on the pages in this domain ?

Is there a way that "contributing" BB members can have the adds blocked?

    Great Idea!
But unfortunately the way our current system is designed, we won't be able to do that.
We can provide permissions to certain features and part of the pages if you belong to a particular user group.Like supporters have access to shoutbox, but it can't be done with the ads.

While I don't use an Ad Blocker, I certainly an sympathetic for those who do. It is difficult to understand why this board, which for so many years has allowed unfettered access, would suddenly change its position and not let the long standing members of this community know about the changes. I disagree with any policy that restricts access based on whether one is using an Ad Blocker or not.

As a user of an ad blocker that is NOT going to give it up, I can tell you it is beyond extremely annoying to have to click an empty spot on my screen to get the "Your Attention is Required" message to go away. At the very least take the warning that goes full screen in red overlaid on the message board out of the rotation. The other warnings I can deal with, but really, I wish there were none of them. I don't shut off my ad blocker for any site so I will probably avoid this site in the future.

If there was an option to donate money to get rid of the warning messages I would do so (again).

Just to clarify - none of the access is blocked for those who get the pop ups.
It is a nice way of letting the users know, how the site is being supported.

As I don't use adblocker myself, I didn't know that different layouts were annoying.
I have disabled different options and have enabled the notice option alone, hope they are not too annoying anymore.
The site runs solely based on ads and generous support from the members.
    Your support is always appreciated!

I use adblocker just because my computer is old in computer years and each thing that has to load makes it SLOW!!! I'm campaigning for a new computer in the next week or so but until then, I'm using adblocker and will just click on the X. :)
