9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life

    Interesting couple of statements.

It seems certain that Paul is writing from the standpoint of between something which has already taken place and something which has (or had) not. Twice he says "having been" and twice he says "we shall be"

Having been justified, having been reconciled. These seem to be denoting the same effect, that our sins are no longer counted against us. Do you see them that way or two distinct benefits of Christ's death?

We shall be...what? That's ultimately my question.

Saved from the wrath of God. Saved by His life. Do you think these denote the same thing or two distinct "shall be"s? When do you think this (or these) shall be?

Consider it as one event and results of the same event.

By God becoming sin for us He paid the price. By being Human, we are able to share in salvation
Our relationship with God is reconciled at the moment salvation, He gave us the power to become "sons of God". He gave the way, He gave us the choice.

The question is how are we reconciled. We Baptist normally believe there was no previous relationship. So how are we RE-Conciled versus being the first relationship, not restoring a broken one.

A different verse adds things in heaven are reconciled by the cross.. How can this be?

I was saved when God justified me (declared me righteous) when I trusted in Christ.
I am being saved as the Good Shepherd leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
I will be saved on that Last Day when My Saviour will own me for one of His.

Why do you suggest this? How do you view the phrases:
Saved from the wrath of God - do you think spared from hell? Or spared physical destruction when Christ returns? Or other?

By His life - what life? The life He lived from birth til the cross? His resurrection?

What do you suppose "saved" means in Rom 5? And how will that "saved" be accomplished by His life?

What life? His life from birth til the cross? His resurrection? Other?

We are Saved , when we accept Him as Savior by Repentance by Faith of what He did as a Human

We serve because we are saved. Not to earn it or secure it.

The result of our Salvation is escaped from the Wrath to come

I'm sorry to do hit-and-run posts, but I'm very busy at present with my church's 50th anniversary events.
May I just point you for the moment to Hebrews 7:25?

His resurrection was proof to us that He was truthful and that His Sacrifice was accepted FOR ALL SIN

Hope you have a good service

You will have to explain what you mean by Romans 7:25
