My dad is a WWII AAF vet. My maternal grandfather was in medical school his school formed a field hospital for the Missouri National Guard. They served in the British Sector of the Western Front. One of my paternal great great grand's served in the Illinois volunteer infantry during the late unpleasantness. He was overage and didn't make it to the Ohio River before being invalided out.

My Great Great Grandfather was a Lieutenant in the French Army. Being a Godly Huguenot he, my Great Great Grandmother and my Great Grandfather were forced to flee persecution from the Catholic leaders of France.

My Great Grandfather was an Army Major who fought in the Mexican American War of 1846-1848.

My Grandfather was an Army Captain who served in the Battle of Manila during the Spanish American War, 1898.

My father served as an Army Intelligence Officer during WWII.

My eldest brother was a Army Medical Corps Officer during the Korean War.

My next eldest brother was a Army Tank Commander during the Korean War.

My next brother in line was a Navy Weapons Officer aboard a destroyer in the mid 1950s.

I served in the Army during Vietnam as a pilot.

My son-in-law just retired after 24 years in the Air Force. His last assignment was flying Predators.

My eldest grandson is pursuing an appointment to the Air Force Academy.

And last but by no means least, my wife is an Air Force brat whose father served from 1946 through 1968. When somebody asks here where she is from she gets a blank look on her face. She was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Texas, Alaska, France, and a half dozen other places that slip my mind at the moment. :)

My dad wanted to fight in WWII - but they would not take him. After the War was over - he was drafted. About 45 days later - he found a way to get out

My brother used to watch Gomer Pyle - so he joined the USMC (thats what he said)

My grandson, just recently joined the Air Force
