I do not capitalize satan as I don't consider him worthy of any special consideration. He is the angel of death and destruction and misery and everything evil. So, may I ask if you've ever met him?

I was in a meeting last night with some members of our church and was presenting an issue that needed to be acted upon to ensure preservation of the church and it's finances. As you know there are those who have taken it upon themselves to "sue" every church that doesn't "snap-to" their demands.

One individual went completely off the wall and attacked like a rabid dog. I sat there and watched him (we were in a well lighted office) and not only did his demeanor and facial expressions change but also he appeared to have a shadow(ie) appearance over his face. You know what I mean by that? It was like he was wearing a big brimmed hat and his entire face was subjected to a darkened shadow.

The meeting abruptly ended and later in the evening the Lord impressed upon me what I had just witnessed. I came face to face with satan. ...that was a bit unnerving.

...any of you experienced like situations?

Short answer, yes, I have witnessed the demonic in others - even those who are supposedly of the assembly.

It seems he definitely goes to church (at least to the pergamos church).:

Revelation 2:13 I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Yes, a couple times, though only one event was in regards to a person. Probably not Satan, but one of his demons, but who knows.

    God bless.

Quite frequently. And often it's nowhere near as dramatic as what you've experienced. He's sneaky and seems to hang around the church.

Paul warned of the warfare amongst us in Eph. 6:10-20 of the war going on around us, and the need to put on the armor! That surely didn't mean we needed to be wearing armor for those times we go into the enemies den or territory.

Praying for you brother. It is hard to understand how the devil can raise his head in the fellowship of believers, but, that is where he likes to slither. It is silent warfare,

I've had 5 face-to-face encounters with demon possessed or "oppressed". Most of them were "Christians", so I use the word "oppressed' as I believe they have allowed themselves to be heavily influenced. The facial changes and voice changes and things that came out of their mouths, alerted me to the demonic influence lurking within them.

beameup..., I have read an article or two regarding "shape-shifting" and after pondering the matter I said to myself...., "yeah, right! Sho'nuff. Yes indeed. I'll be on the lookout for such."

Well, after pondering what I ran into last Sunday night I've come to the conclusion that I did in fact witness "shape-shifting". Obviously I was the only one in the room (4 of us) who witness this and so I've come to the conclusion of satan's ability to direct his evil..., by means of, in my case, a mental image. I saw what no one else in the room saw and obviously, while this man's physical structure didn't change..., it was the image of evil that came through him directed specifically at me.

This individual's face became distorted; his comments in opposition to me were rapid fire; his entire demeanor changed and his entire upper body seemed to be shadowed by a darkened hue. I witnessed the image of his face change to that of a much larger man than he actually is with widened and pronounced jaw bones and cheek bones. Even his eyes seemed "lighted" with fire. This change, while frightening..., caused me to rise up and end the session on the spot but I wasn't terrified. I left the room. immediately. I had never witnessed such in my life.

Over the years I've witnessed many folks become extremely angry and lose their temper but I had never witnessed what happened last week.

For sure, satan can and does attack us on a daily basis but I have always been of the opinion he cannot totally overtake a Christian simply due to the presence of the Holy Spirit. I know of a Christian RN who used to work on a mental ward and the stories she could tell about the manifestation of evil through the many patients directed specifically at her, was the result of said evil recognizing the Spirit of the Lord in her. She said she was never harmed (physically) by anyone but found it above and beyond all rational belief.

I don't suppose any of us can grasp the true meaning of the evil that's lurking.

Consider that you have been given a gift (by the Holy Spirit). I consider mine to be "discernment of spirits". The worst attacks occurred by "family members". I guess the demons just don't like me very much (I take that as a compliment).
