Either Cruz or Rubio Would Beat Trump in One-on-One Matchup

    Last week Donald Trump said he would welcome the GOP field narrowing to just Ted Cruz and himself. Trump said, "it would be easy to beat Ted".

    Once again, Trump is full of it. (Note: Any time Trump opens his mouth he is making stuff up.)

    If Trump was running against Ted Cruz, he would lose. In fact, if Trump was running against Marco Rubio, he would lose.

    Also, as more and more GOP candidates drop out, Trump loses support, remaining candidates gain support:

    So, when other candidates drop out of the race, where do Cruz and Rubio gain the most new supporters? Answer: women. Also, Rubio stands to gain from very conservative voters and Cruz from somewhat conservative voters. (that last sentence is not a typo.)

    Trump does gain some new voters, but nowhere near as many as either Cruz or Rubio. So what segment of the voting demographic does Trump gain the fewest new voters? That is, what group does he already have sewn up? Answer: men between the ages of 18-49 without college degrees that earn less than $50K per year.

    At this point Rubio is the equivalent of a third party candidate. He needs to drop out. Also, his referencing the size of Trumps privates just disqualifies him.

    Rubio will come in third in most contests tonight. Rubio is going to win Florida and Illinois. He will deny Trump those 168 delegates. (Or else Kasich will win Illinois and deny Trump.)

    After March 15th winner take all primaries I see this delegate count, (more or less):

    Trump 509
    Rubio 390
    Cruz 367
    Kasich 144

    Why should Rubio drop out?

    And he referenced his hands. Any other interpretation is in the mind of the listener.

    I agree that Trump would lose to Cruz, but I have a bit more trouble thinking the same about a contest against Rubio. Simply a gut feeling.

    This is the reason it's impossible to mix and match polls well - in a national survey of "adults", Cruz and Rubio beat him in a heads-up match. So? That's not the reality and a good portion of these adults have already voted in a primary in a caucus. This trying to change horses in midstream.

    It's getting too late to matter and unless Trump loses BOTH Florida and Ohio, you will never be able to get rid of him, and I think he may win both.

    some of it just doesn't add up and it points to a Trump win after all. Ohio could go Kasich in a blink, but the Rubio people want Cruz out and the Cruz people want Rubio out even more. CNN is damaging Rubio yet again spreading these rumors that he may drop out anytime, this again right before primaries.
