Siamese twins walk into a bar in Toronto and park themselves on a bar stool.
One of them says to the bartender, "Don't mind us; as you can see, we're joined side by side at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim. Two Molson Canadian draft beers, please."

The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on vacation yet, boys"?
"Off to England next month," says John. "We go to England every year, rent a car and drive for miles.... Don't we, Jim?" Jim agrees.

"Ah, England!" says the bartender. "Wonderful country... the history, the beer, the culture."

"Nah, we don't like all that British stuff," says John. "Hamburgers and Molson's beer, that's us, eh Jim? And we can't stand the English - they're so arrogant and rude."
Bartender asks: Then why keep going to England?

"It's the only chance Jim gets to drive."

Didn't see it coming. Did you

They could buy a used mail delivery truck, or import a British car, so Jim gets to drive in America. I don't get why they would go to the expense of traveling to a country they don't like just for one twin to get to drive.

The government is a joke. It's wasteful for the USPS not to sell trucks they no longer use. But, they're not paying for it, we are. And, Customs is a joke to, for stopping people from importing the cars they'd like.

Back in the day, the USPS did sell its surplus trucks. I bought the only special delivery (left hand drive) truck in a surplus sale back in '81. I then drove it from Wisconsin to California. As I understand if the right hand drives were bought by rural newspaper delivery folks.

The USPS kept Jeep in business for a while. The used mail jeeps used to be everywhere.
