Would you pay admission for a magic show?

and if you did - and if the magician offered, would you allowed yourself to be hypnotized?

Yes to the first part. I enjoy magic shows (more the slight of hand tricks than the "grander" things that are presented today).

No, I wouldn't volunteer to be hypnotized.

Not likely if I were alone. If I were with one or more companions who wanted to see the show, I would consider it. It's quite well known how illusionists (I like that term better than magician) do most of their tricks, or else not hard to conclude. So It's just not much of a money-worthy looksee to me personally.

I think I would say, "If I'm part of the act, how much of a cut do I get?"

I tend to think that magicians, while very entertaining, are in link with the occult or demons! Thus, I would never allow myself to be a part of a magic show or an act in the show!

As an amateur sleight of hand artist, I enjoy watching magic shows. I've never been to one live, but would like to. For me, the point isn't figuring it out, but allowing myself to suspend my disbelief just enjoy the show.

Magicians are in a class with politicians. They get paid to lie to you and you do your best to believe them.

As far as hypnosis, no I would not volunteer for it.

Everybody knows that "magic" is slight of hand, so yes I would go.

In fact I watch Penn and Teller "Fool Us" (No swearing, supposedly a family show) and they are very upfront that magic - so called - is slight of hand, trickery using age old illusions.

Hypnotism - No Way! Not Me!

Pay admission to a magic show? Sure.

Allow myself to be hypnotized? I think I'll pass on that one. I don't need to be clucking like a chicken. LOL
